Solid little stove, burns hot and recharges my phone pretty quick. It is compact and the additinal light that comes with it is a nice touch. Also the starter pellets included in the purchase are useful and make me qant to buy more.
The drawbacks are the battery life and the inability to charge the fan/unit while using it. If they could make the fan/unit chargeable while in use, this qould be perfect.
I recommend this stove as long as you understand these things up front. You will not be disappointed.

Hi Justin! Thanks for writing in. The CampStove 2 should be able to charge itself while in use. If you are cooking and charging at the same time, you'll be drawing the energy stored in the battery pack -- Depending on the device being charged, you'll be drawing energy faster than it can be replenished. Once you unplug the device, the CampStove 2 will begin to redirect that energy to recharging itself!

No charging or light without burning!

I’ve tried it a couple of times and as the heat builds up the fan starts automatically which is a bit strange as you’re losing control. Also the charging function and the light does not work without a live fire. This is contradictory to my perception of the specs where I understood the campfire 2 would charge and bring light without having a fire lit.
Good idea but still have some potential to be discovered before I would recommend the product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If the fan has been turned off manually, the fan may turn on when residual heat is detected in order to protect the power module. When the stove's battery is fully charged it should absolutely charge-out to another device even when the stove is not in use. I’ll give 5 stars now. Came as described and sturdy built. I’ve been unable to try it it so far but appears that it will do the job. Exactly what I was looking for, smaller than I expected though. Buy the cooking attachment with it when purchasing this. After I actually burn in it and see how it charges I’ll let you know.
