Never have to worry about mowing again

The 450X comes with all the features you would ever want in a robotic lawn mower. I installed the boundary wire myself after watching the how to install video on youtube a few times and mapping out my yard. It took a whole Saturday afternoon to complete but it was simple enough. I'm having the mower mow the front and back and there is a 2 feet wide passage that goes to the back. It's important to put a guide wire going to the back in my case. After connecting the wires to the charging station, setting up the mower was pretty easy. Connecting to the app also worked the first time. You can change most the settings on the app, except for a few things like security settings. After set up, when I tried to pick up the mower, the app promptly alerted me. The best feature for this mower is GPS assisted navigation. Let it run for a few days so it can map the yard and it'll take care of all the spots. The app let's me know what the mower is doing at all times. I am a Husqvarna employee and I love this robot mower. For the first time in my life, I don't mind mowing on a hot summer day anymore. I even mow when I'm inside, when it rains, and not at home. Awesome!

Awesome Summer

A few months ago I received the Automower 450X through the Automower First program. Husqvarna got it right! The features are just the beginning from this top notch robotic mower. Don’t be skeptical on battery power or ability for this unit to continuously manicure your lawn. Maintenance is minimum. Blade changes take me less than 10 minutes and I can control the height of the blade by the app on my phone. I am not tech savvy, but you do not have to be when it comes to using the app. From the app you can not only control when your Automower starts and ends it’s cutting cycle, but track where the Automower has been throughout the day. My children love looking at the map to see where the Automower spent most of its time. I absolutely love waking up to a fresh cut lawn. Never thought I could honestly run a lawn mower throughout the night without waking up the neighbors, but that is just part of this amazing mower. It is so quiet that you can run it at any point during the day or night and even carry on a conversation while the Automower is working away. Rain doesn’t even stop this mower from maintaining. Safety is my most favorite feature by far. My kids can enjoy a day of play and I can relax knowing that the Automower will automatically stop and change directions. Even my furbabies refuse to move out of the way because they know the Automower will adjust its path. For my family, this Automower has been life changing. Not once have we had to make time out of our day off to do extensive yard work. In fact, yardwork is so minimal that we actually have time to spend together doing the stuff we love rather than working the day away in the hot summer sun. My husband, who spends most of his day working with power tools when he isn’t sitting on the back of an ambulance, is extremely impressed with the battery life and I am glad that I haven’t had to make a trip to the gas station. We can never be without an Automower. I’m fact, my husband forbids it! Our yard has angles that is hard enough with a riding mower, but the Automower has tackled each with ease. Our lawn has never looked so manicured and our grass has never been so green!

The Future of Lawn Maintenance is Here

The Husqvarna Automower® is the future of lawn maintenance. I was recently a participant in an Automower® First Program to test the Automower®. This was not a paid program but rather a three-month trial to give feedback to the performance of this new technology. I live in a very rural area of Alabama with a lawn that easily exceeds an acre to mow.
The mower has exceeded my expectations to say the least. I haven’t mowed the lawn in nearly three months and it looks awesome…always! The technology, which operates through the App, is so convenient and fun that lawn maintenance went from a burden to a joy. No matter where I am I can see what the mower is doing and where it is located on my property through the GPS system. The App is my favorite part of the mower! If the mower is stuck or has an issue it sends me a message immediately with the problem.
I purposely left an area of our yard out of the boundary of the Automower® to test the difference of the lawn and it is extensive. The condition of the lawn maintained by the Automower® is much better on many levels. There are less weeds, less ant hills, thicker lawn, less dead spots, and the list goes on. Looking forward to rerouting the boundary wires to take over this area soon.
Having the Automower® has already saved me dozens of hours over just three months. The purchase price and operational costs are a fraction of my current zero-turn mower. My yard will not be without an Automower® in the future!

Great mower - lousy searcher

The 450X does a great job keeping the lawn, but watching it searching for the charging station is pitiful. This unit is equipped with gps, but - I don't expect anybody to believe this, but it's true - it DOES NOT use gps when searching! As a result it errs around at random, often in the remotest corners of the yard. This may take hours, and sometimes it does not find the dock at all, the battery getting exhausted. At Husqvarna they say that the gps isn't accurate enough for searching, but obviously this isn't true, as it does display its position fairly accurately on the app. They also say that guide wires would help, and this is probably true, but it's frustrating having to install many hundreds of feet of wire, when proper use of the already present gps unit could have solved the problem.
Pros: Reduced Noise, Quality Construction
Cons: Not Enough Features

Time Saver

I received this Automower for free to review. We live in the southern part of the US, and we have the dreaded RED CLAY and grass/weeds in our sloping yard.
This summer has been the wettest summers we have had in a while. It was so lovely to be one of "those people" who's grass is always mowed. Living in a neighborhood with mostly retired folks and we're the young family on the go, our yard didn't always get cut regularly. Now with the Atomower, we're not pushing our pushmower up any 45/60 degree slopes or sweatin' peas mowing our grass. The Automower effortlessly tackles the hills that are weed prone with ease. There are bare spots in our yard that is compacted red clay, the Aautomower rolls over that spot in the rain or shine, with no issues.
The maintenance is surprisingly easy. The blades were not hard to change at all, it took 10 minutes from start to finish(that included finding safety gloves). My husband replaced the razor blades, but after watching him, I feel comfortable attempting to change the blades the next time.
This model is a bigger automower, and it handled sensing the toys left in our yard, the automower would back up and plan another route. It is NOT recommended to leave toys in your yard while this is in operation, but it happens, and the toys survived!
The automower is quiet so you can have your mower running all hours of the day without worrying about noise ordinance or interupting your baby's nap time!
The app to use with the automower is user-friendly, it is not aggravating to use! You can name your automower, (which was a fun family activity, like naming a pet you don't have to take care of ;) you can set up a 24/7 schedule. There are four height levels you can adjust your mower too, and how far off the guide wire your automower will go. There's just a lot of personalization that is enabled or you can just leave everything on factory setting and not fuss over it, either way, it's easy to use!
If you're on the fence to get on, you won't be sorry if you make this purchase! It's a great yard tool that makes your life easier, not harder.

Only reason for low rating .... no signal

10 stars, but the only thing I do not like is if there is a notice of no loop signal there is no way to quickly find where the break is especially if the wire is not visible. Oof!

Automower vs. Gulf Coast yard!

At the beginning of the summer, which starts early in south Alabama) I received the Husqvarna Automower 450X for free as part of the Automower® First Program. My local dealer delivered the mower and we set it up in 45 minutes. They let gave me the mower to test and with a less than perfect lawn and the traffic of a growing family I agreed I would be a good test case.
I doubted an electric mower that mowed on its own would be able to keep up with a southern yard in the United States' wettest city. Heck it took at least 5 mows a month in the summer with my big gas mower just to keep the grass under control. It didn't take long though and I started asking where have you been all my life Automower? The reliability of the Automower 450X is a big part of my new found fandom. Pulling in to my driveway every afternoon and looking at a perfectley mowed yard is darn satisfying!
Speaking of the "set it and forget it" reliability of the Automower I also like using the Automower Connect app to start/ stop the mower, check and adjust the mowing height and even look at the mowing pattern map.
Speaking of the regular mowing schedule, I have my Automower 450X mowing daily this time of year, my yard health is the best it has been since we laid the sod 12 years ago. The crew from my Husqvarna dealer Robertsdale Power Equipment pointed out is was because the smaller clippings from daily mowing break down more quickly adding consistent fertilization to my yard.
Y'all the Automower is easy to use, the key pad on the mower is simple and reliable and the controls on the app are intuitive. Also don't worry if you have a "assymetric" yard mine is on a slope and has a sidewalk going one way and a walkway leading to the house plus multiple flower beds and the Automower handled it with no problems. My yard is also occupied by children and dogs and the safety features on the Automower put me at ease with having mowing while my family was in the yard...with maybe the exception of my dogs barking at the mower as it went about its work!
