Long lasting!

My old faithful fan that I’ve had since the 1990s finally went died. When I bought it It was expensive to me. But since then Vornado fans are the only fans that I’ve purchased. I have a large upright that I love. The only thing is that the power cord plugs in under the motor so when you move the fan the power cord falls off. Other than that I will keep purchasing Vornado fans. I’ve been asked why I only have Vornado fans? My answer is that I don’t want to keep buying a cheap fan every couple of years and end up spending more than if I just bought a good quality one.

This is my third Vornado purchase. I have two other DC air circulators in medium but I wanted something for my living room that pushes out a little more air. I use these Vornados as fans—not really as air circulators. I direct the air flow directly at me and they are positioned within 3-8 feet directly from my bed or chair. I still use my ceiling fans, too. This lets me keep my AC at 84, even in this 100 degree Texas heat.

This fan has the power of a "shop fan," but is much quieter, much smaller, and far more sleek and nice to look at. It's relatively lightweight, easy to move, has a head that pivots up/down, and uses hardly any energy. It keeps my large livingroom cool and fresh all day, and at night, the lower settings are nearly silent. The open base of the stand allows me to "wrap it around" legs of furniture so I can place the fan anywhere and face it any direction. There are no "cheap" parts on this fan, and I believe I will have it for decades to come.

Go back to black please! Don't know who thought changing the color to white was a good idea but, it wasn't! I fell in love with Vornado back in the 90's thanks to my brother. I followed him and purchased one after seeing and feeling his in action and it kept me cool and comfortable for about 10 years. Bonus, it also kept the mosquitos off of me while sleeping. It darn near killed me when it died. None of stores were carrying the variable model that year and I have no idea why I didn't think to look online to try to order one back then. I wound up buying the three speed model and have hated on it the entire time that I have owned it. You can't go backwards after having had the variable speed! Two of the little tabs broke off when I removed the grill from the three speed to clean it and this year it's been making a very, very noticeable and annoying sound even on low. (It would be great if we could order replacement front grills. I can't be the only one in need of one.) Decided to look both in store and online for the adjustable speed version to replace it and ordered one from Amazon since it's sold out on here and I couldn't find a store that sold it. Unlike the one I purchased in the 90's, this one is audible at the lowest levels. Someone else's review likened it to white noise and once you get to it, it's just that. It would be nice if this was fixed going forward. This one is also too dayum short. I believe the one I had back in the 90's was 48 inches. I have this one sitting on top of those little hard plastic file folder storage cases to give some height though it still isn't as high as I would like it. Today's beds are much higher so, these need to go back to their original height. Stop the shrink!!! I would purchase a Vornado for every room if they went back to the original color, height and quality!!!

Speed dial controls the air flow, we like a little air circulation in the summer when we sleep and the dial in a low setting makes it whisper quiet for a good night sleep.

I purchased this fan a months ago in preparation for summer, I have multiple fans in my main living area that is open to the second floor and is an open concept but with so many windows my AC can not keep it cool. Thus far it is mid April, I have shut off the other fans and my new Vornado circulate the air through the room so effectively that my AC has only kicked on once.

This fan is awesome. It arrived just in time before a really hot spell. Kept the house cool. This is the best type of fan I have ever owned. It's so powerful it sends air through a large are with ease and very efficiently.
