When I pulled out the light from the box I thought it wasn't going to hold its brightness like I was expecting it to... BUT, sure enough we weren't disappointed with these lights! We've used them on 2 camping trips and they are phenomenal! We are ordering more :-D
I've been using the old LAL for a couple years and thought they were fine, but when I had a chance to use the new LAL 350s I was blown away at how much better these were. They took 10 steps forward on this light. Best features: cord management (SOOOOO NICE!!) and low/high settings. So much better than before! Nice work!
the Day I received the Email that the new Light-a-Life 350 was for sale I ordered it as soon as I could. Today I received the Light-a-Life 350 and had to try it out in comparison to the original. I have recommend the original Light-a-Life lanterns to many people due to the versatility of being able to use any 12 volt source, light weight, bright, low power usage, sturdy and handy. I will say that the Light-a-Light 350 will surpass it predecessor. It is smaller, lighter, uses one bright led with two power settings. The storage of the cord and reducing of size with help wiht packing more in a back pack for camping. I plan to buy several more over the coming summer for camping and for power outages, even for parties. I will update this review once I have done more testing but I pleased with the design and features that can not wait to go camping again and dare I say, the next power outage.
One suggestion, if not already in the works, might be colored filter/cover. Possibly amber and/or red. Amber for bugs. Red for night time activities like stargazing.
I occasionally want to use my Chromebook in a unlit room, but the keys aren't illuminated like they would be on a Macbook. This is the perfect solution, especially when it's in my lap instead of a desk. It's hard to avoid typos when my hands are in a different place.
Unexpectedly bright for just 1 watt! Plugs into USB port of your laptop or Sherpa50. Gives enough light to work at computer without disturbing someone sleeping in the same room.
Bought this light for a power out event as my wife has a phobia about no light. The Light was run off an Anker Battery and ran for 12-14 hours. No real power drain on the Anker at all. This is a very bright LED string. We had to remote it to a Staircase as it was so bright. It could use some sort of reduction method, or less LEDs. You could read by it with no issues. Product seems solid and is in our Go-Bag.
It is good for typing in the dark when using my Chromebook or laptop. Uses little power. I have use it with a USB portable battery as a emergency light. I pluged 2 of the Luna LED lights in the battery and it lit up the whole room fairly well lasting more than 3 days at 3hrs a day usage.
