Way too DIM

My 250 lumen Biolite Sitelite is twice as bright as my fully charged 500 lumen Powerlite XL. Pressing button on top cycles through dim white, dim red,light and even dimmer

Hi! Thanks for writing in. The BaseLantern XL's lighting modes have a dimming feature when you press and hold the power button. Make sure it's on its brightest setting -- if you're still experiencing the same dimness, please reach out to our support team and we'll be able to help you out!

I loved it while it worked...

For some time I thought it was a really good product, I even went and bought another (the small SunLight) but then it suddenly stopped working. No harm was done to the lantern, and also no sign was given from it that could make us think it was having problems. Now it is a very expensive brick.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Super lightweight I have smaller house and even use it to read in the living room while my wife nurses baby. So far battery life has been really good. Haven’t used the app or Bluetooth function but manual use is awesome.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I received my BaseLantern through their Kickstarter campaign. I've used it only sporadically since receiving it and have fully re-charged it only a few times. Recently after using it I tried recharging but without success. I'm unclear why but it will not hold a charge even though the LEDs flas indicating that it is charging. It is a nice product but not durable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Baselantern troubles

I just got the Baselantern XL and I was very excited to add it to my lineup of Biolite gear, however I can't seem to get it to charge. I have held the button for 10 seconds to get it out of Demo mode, as well as charged it over night through the USB. It still doesn't seem to want to turn on.
I'm sure it's fine and it's user error, but I don't know what else to try.

I was an original backer for this product on Kickstarter. I loved the BaseLantern XL, at first. We used it on family camping trips and whenever the power would go out due to a winter storm. However, it just recently stopped working and it won't charge. I have a number of other Biolite products, and this is the only one that has been a major disappointment. Too bad it's also one of the more expensive lighting products they sell.
