Takes Getting Used To

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using my new JennAir 5-burner gas cooktop for about 2 months now. I previously had a different brand gas cooktop for 23 years that I was happy with, but replacement parts were no longer available.The grate on this cooktop sits higher over the flame than on my previous cooktop, so I'm relearning how to cook. Also, if use a large pan/pot on either front burner, the control knobs get hot from heat from the pan. The grates are very heavy.
Pros: Attractive Design, Quality Construction
Cons: Hard To Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the first times I used the cooktop, I was making rice. A bit of water from the pot spilled onto the burner cap and now there is a large spot that will not wash off. I followed the cleaning instructions in the use and care manual, but the cap looks awful. The manual said acid foods could affect the finish. Does this mean rice also? Hardly acidic. Are these burner caps so fragile that the cooktop cannot be used for most foods?
