Major improvements over our old JX36".

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced our 15 year old 36" JennAir with what we anticipated to be a new one just like it. Surprise, Surprise the new one has so many major improvements it's like a totally different cooktop. First of all there one of the larger burners has a range that goes from Ultra High to Ultra Low. The Ultra High setting is so hot it is beyond any electric I have ever seen. And the coils heat so evenly across the entire ring that bubbles form evenly across the entire surface. The largest coil is equally impressive and the vent system has been totally redesigned. We never expected such major improvements but JennAir engineers have impressed us.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Use, Quality Construction

Features are good except the downdraft operation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this cooktop to replace our 48 year old JennAir cooktop. Excellent cooktop except for the downdraft operation. The downdraft on this cooktop is terrible. It hardly draws any vapors or smoke off the cooking surface. Had JennAir service send representative to check the problem, he advised changing the exhaust tubing, which we had done and this didn't solve the problem. The old cooktop downdraft worked 10 ten times better than this one. I would not recommend this JennAir model.

Could suck a little more

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love out cooktop. It makes a great addition to our new kitchen remodel and is used daily with much pleasure. Unfortunately, it could have a little more power in the down draft department. Boiling water, no issue, stir fry - doing pretty well, searing meat - there will be smoke in the air. We've tried with the windows open for cross ventilation, we've tried with the ceiling fan on to help with air flow, we've tried a lower heat and using different burner positions. No matter what we do, there is some smoke in the air. A little disappointed. Would love to give 4.5 stars as this is the only issue.

Don’t buy Jenn Air

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had three of these replaced under warranty within a year. The surface hot light stays dimly lit. Neither ABT or Diamond Service could diagnose the problem. ABT replaced it three times with the same issue. Must be defect in manufacturing. I still have the problem.
Cons: Unstable
