[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product works great for thicker hair. But on thin hair, it does not get every single hair. Just like any other shaving product I have used. But I just go over it once more, and that takes care of it. The best part is, the hair stays away for a while and I don't have to buy other products to use with it to maximize my results(shaving cream, etc...)! I don't think I will be using another shaving product!
Boldly going where no epilator has gone before....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have for quite a while now used an epilator to keep my underarms, aka armpits, hair free during the summer. I had never before tried to use an epilator "down there." Well, I saw the extra attachment for the bikini area and thought, "game on."
Yep, I put the attachment on and used the epilator in my nether-region. And, it worked!
Let's be frank. I was terrified to use the other epilators I've owned down south, because I could not imagine having a huge spinning wheel of tweezers ready to rip out hair all willy-nilly. The attachment for the bikini area keeps the epilator working in a finite space, so fear not.
This is my first cordless version. I should have made the switch a long time ago. I was worried that power might suffer when running an epilator off battery rather than from an outlet. Nope! This unit is as effective as my prior corded devices and just a ton more convenient.
Common questions:
Does it hurt? Yes. Epilating does not feel great; it's downright painful at times. But, if you want to be hair free for weeks and don't want to spend the time or money going for a wax, then epilating is for you. And, it gets easier every time you do it. Also, I use a lidocaine spray that helps. For me, epilating my private areas actually results in less pain overall, because I get wicked bad razor burn, no matter how hard I try to avoid it.
Does it work? Yes. The more you use an epilator, the better it works. My skin looks better with regular epilating than it does when I use a razor. I even tried laser hair removal before. I was the perfect candidate with light skin and dark hair.....didn't do a thing. This epilator removes the hair and the root, so I can finally enjoy areas of hair-free bliss.
Is Braun's silk-epil 7 the right epilator to buy? Yes. I have used versions of epilators by Panasonic and Braun. I have done literally hours of research into other makes/models. Braun makes the best epilator in terms of being well-built and long lasting. The Braun epilators are also incredibly powerful. I used my last Braun epilator well over 10 years, and it's still going. Given that it is corded and the silk epil 7 is cordless, my old epilator now lives in my closet, no doubt cursing the arrival of the silk epil 7.

Easy to use and not terribly uncomfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its not what I would consider a 'pleasant' feeling, but a lot less pain than waxing or cutting yourself with a razor. At first when I turned on the smart light I didn't like it, but after a few swipes I saw why it is needed. It is comfortable to hold. I am definitely happy with the results too, I was kind of skeptical beforehand. I will gladly continue to use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am Mediterranean and for those that have ever traveled there, women have mostly dark beautiful curly/wavy hair which comes with one downside: lots of unwanted hair elsewhere. Iâm 36 years old and have started tweezing, shaving, epilating or waxing since I was 13. Yes, I've even burnt sugar in my momâs kitchen to create some kind of miracle home wax; the only thing resulted from that was a sticky pot that we had to throw away. Iâve had countless of epilators some of which didn't last a week and some iâve had for over 5 years.
So Iâve got the Braun Silk Epil 7 for free as a BzzAgent in exchange for testing and reviewing it. So far i've tested it on my legs, arms, underarms and bikini area. Iâve yet to test on my face. I have had great results and smooth legs with very little pain. Most areas don't hurt, i felt a little pain around ankles and knees even though thereâs less hair there. I guess those areas are sensitive overall. I love the smartlight feature for underarms because i can see even the smallest hair and go after it with a vengeanceð. I feel very lucky to have tested such a good product that is a necessity for me. I also used it on my husband to remove few stray hairs on his shoulders and he is very happy.
Pros -The package comes with 6 accessories that can be used in different situations. -The epilator can be used in dry or wet conditions. Warning: you have to use it unplugged in wet conditions. -Love the light feature especially when epilating underarms. -Operates for about 40 minutes when fully charged. That was enough for me to do legs and underarms. -I didnât experience a lot of redness like with other epilators I've used in the past. -I was able to epilate very short hairs in underarms that were re-growing from waxing. I couldnât wax them yet but I was able to epilate them. -I epilated my husbandâs shoulders and he was totally fine with it, he didnât report any pain or discomfort.
Cons -It is not painless, but it is better than waxing. -There are some ingrown hairs in the bikini area. -Hair comes back â¹((. This is not the productâs fault.
To be reviewed later: -Havenât used in face yet -Have tried only in dry conditions, will try wet in another week.
Best advice I can give: - if you don't know how you react to it, don't epilate before going to the pool/beach. Do it the night before so in case your skin gets red, it has time to go back down. - If you havenât shaved or waxed in a while, trim your hair or wait for hair to grow a bit after a shave. Don't epilate long hair, it does hurt more. - After epilating for the first time, exfoliate before additional epilations. It helps get ingrown hairs from under the skin so you can remove those too.
After about three days of using the epilator on my legs, my legs are still smooth and I have not had to shave for about 4 days now. I make sure to exfoliate with a loofa sponge to prevent ingrown hairs.
I tried it on my arms and it did not hurt. BUT I tried it on my armpits and it hurt BAD! I think the more you use it, the less painful it will be. I am too scared to try it on the bikini area. I have not tried it on my face because I have sensitive skin.
What I like about the Braun Silk Ãpil: Cordless, can be recharged for an hour to get about 40 minutes of use Cuts back on shaving time Smooth legs for longer periods of time Different attachments for sensitive areas Bright light to see small hairs - don't look directly into the light it's so bright it blinded me lol! Small brush to clean hair out of the epilator Plastic of the epilator is glittery lol Out of all the epilators I have tried in the past, this one is the most painless

Found my new love

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant to try a new epilator after my experience years ago with the coil-based Epilady. I remember going through lots of pain while removing the hairs on my legs. And I never would have dreamed of using it on my arms or face.
But with the Braun Silk Epil, all that pain does not exist! I was able to do my entire leg fairly quickly and I barely felt anything. A week later, I notice my hairs growing back finer as well. This makes me think the Epilady was breaking the hairs before but the Silk Epil actually does remove them at the root.
I found the courage to try it on my arms as well as face and it worked like a charm as well! Truly love this little machine!
The Silk Epil does come with a shaver attachment as well, but I find that doesn't work too well. You are better off buying a separate trimmer. But definitely buy this as an epilator. It works great!
