Not Fun, but Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I tried this epilator on my legs and arms. Overall, I like the features of the epilator. It has a light which is especially useful for seeing missed hair. The epilator also feels comfortable in my hand while using it. I also like the pivoting head and massage rollers because they seem to make the epilator a little more bearable. The epilator also has a slow setting and a fast setting. At first, I only used the slow setting because the instructions say to start with that if you haven't used an epilator in a long time or ever. The slow setting does seem to be less painful than the fast setting, but I like the fast setting better because it takes less time to remove the hair which means the pain will be over sooner! It also seems as if I have to go over my skin more often on the slower setting in order to remove the hair. The fast setting seemed more effective overall. I recommend this epilator to anyone looking for an effective, long lasting hair removal option. However, it's important to remember that there's no such thing as a 100% pain free epilator. Also, some parts of the body are always more sensitive than others.

The 1st Time I Used Braun Silk epil 7

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, when I was selected to receive this item to use and give my opinion, I read other online reviews just to see what I was in for. The one response that seemed to be in every review was pain! Okay, I can deal with short term pain. I was more interested in the end result. So, I was game for this. With time between having to tend to my hairy legs, I'll take a little pain.
It arrived!!! You charge only for 1 hour. That was new to me. A FULL charge in one hour. It lasts about 40-45 minutes of use.
I started on my right leg. Now, I have to be honest. I have neuropathy in both feet, up to my ankles. That means no feeling up to my ankles. So, my lower legs would be less sensitive, but just around and maybe 1/2" above my ankle.
I was prepared to use it dry. When the green light was steady, it was ready. (It flashes when it's charging) I started at the bottom of my leg and I was so caught up in watching the tiny hairs sprinkle on to the white towel I put down, I didn't feel anything. Really, if I didn't see the hairs, I would have thought it wasn't on. Slow and steady......it was great. I felt when it became stinging, but bearable. I tried using my other hand to make the skin taut, to be flat and tight. Didn't help. Basically, yes, it did sting, but I could handle it. The best part was the smoothness of my legs. I have had pain worse than this ever got. It doesn't linger. In the booklet it gave the idea to use a body lotion after treatment. My legs didn't turn red or irritate, as others experienced. I had a very good experience, but I did use some lotion just to feel how smooth my legs were. Wow, it was like the best shave in the world. No cuts, no band aids needed. No stubble. Sleek and smooth.
Both legs are completely hair free. The truth now lies in how long between treatments. Does it make the new hair come in lighter? Not in color, but in amount. Will it be faster the second time around? Will it sting less? These are the answers that I'm looking for. I don't intend to use this anywhere but my legs, but you never know. I will surely be back with the update and answers to all of my questions.
I rated 4 stars out of 5. I hope that's not the final rating because, again, the end result will be how long between treatments. It could go to 5 stars if I don't need to do it again for awhile. We'll see. Stay tuned!!

In love with this epilator!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was out of town while this epilator was shipped to my house, so by the time I was able to use it, I had about a weeks worth of hair growth on my leg and underarms. I have been an epilator user for about 2 years now, so the growth wasn't so long that it would be noticeable to others, but it's very easy to see from close up, and you can most definitely feel the hairs.
This epilator comes with 4 different caps. One has massage rollers on it, another is the efficiency cap, and the others cover parts of the epilator so that it only pulls out small areas of hair at a time. It also comes with a shaving attachment with a trimming cap. It also has a built in light which is really useful to help spot those pesky stray hairs!
So far I have only used the massage roller cap because it works amazingly to me that I don't feel the need to switch caps. That being said, I do not have a low pain tolerance and I never felt that using an epilator was ever painful to me unlike some people. With my old epilator (Remington EP7030) I would feel pricks as my hairs were being pulled out. However, when I was epilating my leg hairs, I didn't even feel like anything was coming out! I had to double check to see if it was working, and sure enough it was. I really feel like the massage cap works! When I would epilate up to my thighs, that's where I would start feeling a little bit of irritation. It didn't hurt, but the prickly sensation of getting my hairs pulled there would make me feel itchy. With the Braun, I did not feel this way at all.
Aside from my leg hairs, I also epilate my underarms and around my belly button. It works great in both areas and I have no complaints! I'm also very prone to ingrown hairs in all of these areas, and I can be really bad about exfoliating (too lazy/I forget.) Despite not exfoliating often, I haven't been having many issues with ingrowns lately.
I do not really have any complaints about this epilator, however it said that it comes with pre epilation wipes and I did not receive any. This is also a very expensive epilator and it might not be worth the price to some people. I think that if you are very sensitive to pain, this would be a really good epilator to use, but if you're not bothered by the pricking feeling, then you might be better off going with a cheaper option. However, it does do a bit of a better job removing more/smaller hairs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical about the epilator, but after using it I am super pleased. unlike shaving, hairs take longer to grow back.
If you are doing it the first time I would recommend doing it in shower with warm water, it reduces the sensation.
Also love the facial attachments.

Braun Silk Epil 7

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I have used the Braun Silk Epil 7 a total of 3 times. The unit itself is comfortable to hold and all the attachments make it convenient for any area. I decided to start with my forearms. Normally I just shave but I let the hair grow in a little. Although it is definitely effective, it hurts quite a bit. I thought that maybe by the third time it would hurt a little less, not so. It hurt as much as it did using it the first time. I guess the bottom line is that it depends on how high your threshold is for pain. I will continue to do my arms but can't imagine using it in a more sensitive area. If you can tolerate it, you will find that your hair grows back less and less.

Works Really Well and Looks Good Doing It! Wish I Had Known Sooner How Much I Like Those Little "Extras"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Reviews can generally contain a lot of hyperbole and I will do my best to be honest without going overboard, but I really do like this unit a lot. I have been using epilators for many years. Tried anything from high end models to cheap drugstore units. The Braun Silk-epil 7 ranks up there with the top of the line.
- It comes with a lot of attachments, and even though I only use a few, it's good to know I have the options for face, bikini, legs, etc. The face one is very nice for between the brows, something I would NEVER have tried without the attachment for fear of ripping out my whole eyebrow.
- There is a light on the front to illuminate where you are working, which my other epi's have also had, so I expected it, but if you have never used one with a light you will find this VERY helpful to make sure you do not miss any hairs.
- It's wet/dry so I can use it in the shower or tub. I usually do not allow my hairs to be wet when using the epi, as I am afraid they will break off instead of being pulled out, but the unit works so well I figured I would give it a try. It worked beautifully wet, too. The real bonus was being able to clean it under running water & making sure all the hairs were removed. Much easier than just using the little brush that comes with most "dry only" units.
- It is cordless/rechargeable, which I wish I had realized how convenient that would be years ago. Doing my legs in the backyard while lounging was WAY nicer than plugged in while hovering over my tub with the cord barely reaching. I was able to use it multiple times without recharging and that was very nice.
Anyone who has used an epi before know they are not "painless". They take time to get used to and can be very uncomfortable to use at first, BUT over time it just becomes a dull pinch that is hardly noticed when using it. Many women give up after the first time or two thinking the discomfort will always be like that, but it really does go away. My first time I "ouch! ouch-ed!" through my whole leg while my sister did it for me laughing at my reaction... weeks later I barely even noticed the pinch. My bikini area is still REALLY hard for me so I rarely use it there, but I know a few girls who have no trouble with that area at all.
I will say this one does seem a bit less "rough" (a little less painful pinching when the hairs are removed). For me the pain is usually minimal and I don't even think about it anymore, but it did seem a less noticeable of a "tweezer feeling" they my previous unit. If you are using an epi for the first time it will still most likely will be somewhat uncomfortable for you, but give it a few seasons before you give up on it. You really will get used to it, it's just not instant. The lack of dark hairs on your legs over time will be worth it if you stick it out.
I am not sure if it was wishful thinking on my part, but the silk 7 really did seem to pull more hairs instead of just breaking them. Maybe it is pulling closer so it's getting a better grip, or maybe it's got better "grabbers" for the hairs, either way I noticed a lot more of the hairs being actually pulled out then with my previous epi, and a lot more "lighter" hairs being pulled and not just broken off, too. I tried doing a section of my forearm and it actually pulled the lighter hairs out, not just break them, which would have never happened with my old epi.
Overall, I really do like the new braun epi, it works very well, the wet/dry and cordless feature are options I didn't realize were so nice to have, and to top it off it looks cute, too (the center part is slightly glittery -lol-) .
If you are looking for high end epi with all the extras you will want (and some you might not realize you want), this is probably the one you are looking for. Buying a low priced model (which I have done before) can make you think this type of hair removal doesn't work (it does) or is much more painful than it is. It's like just like buying a razor... there are cheap single blade razors that suck and nick you, and more expensive triple blade razors with guards and lotions that glide over your legs and work like magic.... do yourself a favor, pick the magic.

Braun silk epil 7

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that the Braun Silk Epil 7 removes hair very well. The downside is that it hurts pretty bad. You have to brace yourself before touching the epilator to your skin. I think waxing is just as efficient but is faster and causes about the same amount of pain. The epilator is a nice weight and shape and comes with many attachments. It is kind of loud. If you have a high pain tolerance this is perfect for you but if you are sensitive I would avoid this product
