Affordable without sacrifice

I purchased the 14" 720s for a university program in the base i5 8GB version. The new 8th Gen i5 is nearly 40% faster than the old 7th Gen one, making it a performance bargain if you can find it. The other great thing about this laptop is the SSD hard drive, and NVidia GPU, it is really an unreal price point for these features.
The battery life is about 4 hours under heavy continuous use, which is better than most. I was also able to install and play some games with some pretty heavy graphics requirements, and turn all of the video setting up to max with zero issues. I didn't think it would handle these games, but it was smooth and crisp. The display is really clear and sharp, and keyboard feels very upscale and nice to work on. It has JBL speakers, and they are not as good as a portable speaker, but they are better than most other laptops. The finger print scanner is also pretty sweet, I really like being able to unlock the computer so easily.
The 720s also isn't made of cheap plastic, it has a nice metal exterior shell and feels like a sturdy premium unit to the touch. It is super compact and despite the 14" screen it compares in size to 13.3" laptops. I think it is because the screen is pushed right out to the edge whereas other laptops have a thick border around it. It is only about a half inch thick, and weighs around three and a half pounds. That makes it pretty awesome for portability.
The only negative I've found is the fan noise. It does seem to kick in a lot, and it can be annoying. It is one of those trade offs for having a graphics card though, and the extra graphics power is well worth the noise to me.
Overall I am really impressed. I compromised very little on my wish list for this laptop, and now that I've used it for a few weeks I can conclude that it delivers a ton of performance for a very good price.

Good for college or university student. Display quality is good and 8th Gen i5 with four cores is better than last Gen. Only negative point is fan noise. They should fix this with bios update.

Used as my primary device for a few weeks now. Has amazing hardware for the price, and is still amazingly sleek and light. A good variety of ports too. Lenovo also includes many special and useful features in the software like only using AC and not touch the battery when plugged in, hardware camera and mic buttons. Only complaint is that the keyboard is on the harder side, may take some time to get to, and fans can get loud under max load. The problem can be solved my going into power manager and setting max processing power to 90% or something.

Awesome so far

I was skeptical when purchasing this laptop due to the lack of reviews for the new model currently out there. But I am very pleased with the unit
Pros:
- Nice sharp screen, didnt need any adjusting out of the box
- Premium metal chassis design, little flex
- weight, some people may not like this but I prefer a heavier laptop.
It's still very thin, but doesn't feel like a delicate piece of plastic
- Good battery life, first cycle got me about 9 hours of media/general use.
- Finger print scanner worked first try everytime so far
- Loud speakers
Cons:
- Fans, can be loud at times (under load) most of the time they aren't an issue and you won't hear them but if you need absolute silence, maybe look at alternatives.
Will update after more extensive use

4 bad points:
- The screen is not Anti-Glare. Basically, it's like a mirror, very murky mirror.
- It's REALLY loud even when working on simple tasks.
- It can be used as a heater. Quick and high heating up for your hands.
- The sound is unacceptably low.
And in addition keyboard light up is done poorly.
It's also heavier then I expected. (Heavier then Macbook Air 2013)
Positive: Metal corpus, good resolution, decent touchpad.
So, I would advise to keep searching.

Excellent ultrabook for the price

The MX150 GPU, 8th gen Intel CPU, and ultrabook styling were all must haves for me. This laptop has all of them and runs great, it starts in seconds and looks stunning. I definitely recommend it.
The only thing I found a little strange was there is no pause/play next/prev media keys.
