Duplex printing but not copying fro ADF

It seems that buried in the specifications it is listed that this machine doesn't do duplex copying but will do duplex printing. I purchased my machine in a physical store. I read the features on the box and talked to the sales person who assured me that it was capable of duplex copying. I read the Basic User's Guide which simply refers you to online instructions for 2-sided copies. So you make the assumption, erroneously, that you can make 2-sided copies. Since my old printer (not a Brother machine) could do both, I didn't think that they would make a machine that could do duplex printing but not duplex copying from the ADF. Who needs a printer that can't duplex copy in the ADF? The salesperson was so busy pushing the cost saving features of the ink, that they failed to mention this small but important missing feature. Also, the mobile printing instructions are complicated and the machine doesn't give me connectivity through Google Cloud print across all my devices. Otherwise, it does do single copies through the ADF and it does print from my computer duplex copies. I have to take some responsibility for failing to do my homework before purchasing and waiting too long to return the item. With this company never purchase in a store without reading the specifications on line..."Buyer Beware!"
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The printer's speed on printing is terrible..it prints a page and there is a 15 second delay between printing l other pages
This is extremely terrible for my business. I was impressed with Bothers laser printing but not with this one. The delay also occurs when faxing. If there is a better way the get better results I would like to.hear it.

Not an "Outstanding" Printer

The printer has a lot of quirky thing about it. The Automatic Document Feed is very fussy, doesn't always work well. The print quality (graphics) are not as good as other HP Printers I have owned. The individual paper feed jams often.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Being a small business owner,it is crucial for me to have business tools with premium features to save time and money.Ive used regular printers and business type printers in my business for years but have never found one that is cost efficient,saved my business money,and has premium features;until now. The Brother Business Smart Plus Printer,model MFC-J5830DW,is an office staple that deserves positive attention. With so many superb features, this is the printer that will help your business flourish. With excellent print quality,you can expect bright color prints with high resolution. Printing photos is a little different, as I noticed some color blending with black details in images coming out looking more brown. Scanning is very easy and with scanning,there is a nice web connect utility feature allowing you to scan from a mobile device or computer and upload to outside sources such as DropBox. Printing is more cost efficient with this printer than Ive seen with others. The Inkvestment cartridges are long lasting with low overall running costs.You can print multiple pages on a single sheet,which I tested out, and this feature is a definite money saver. Although this printer is very bulky and heavy,it is very easy to assemble. The step by step instructions are included and very easy to follow. One of my favorite features of this printer is USB printing and you can preview your images on the LCD screen before printing. This is a feature I have not seen with other printers. Wireless functionality is outstanding on this product as well. My overall impression of this printer is that if you want a good strong features and economically sound printer for your business, this printer is worth it. I do feel that the quality of print graphics could be improved upon, as well as allowing larger than letter size items to automatically print double sided. I`m conclusion,this printer comes highly recommended.

So much better than HP!

Have been a loyal HP Printer user for years. Got tired of always needing more ink as it seemed the ink low message occurred soon after new ink was installed. Tried this Brother MFC-J5830DW Printer - WOW! Absolutely no complaints and the ink seems to last so much longer than with the HP.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was able to setup the printer fairly easily using the instructions. The printer worked immediately after installation. I was able to print basic documents. I did have some issues printing from my web browsers, but that was likely due to a problem with the browsers and not with the printer itself. The plastic construction of the printer is acceptable, yet it makes me feel that the printer might be prone to break. The panel used for settings is fairly easy to use. However, I like a more definitive feel when I press the keypad. The quality of the printouts was very good and easy to adjust. I was able to print from both my laptop and android phone. Overall, I was very satisfied by my experiences with the printer. The printer is on par or better than most of the printers I have used in my career as a financial professional.
I would recommend this to a friend!
