Poorly designed space

This refrigerator replaced the earlier GE Profile model which fit into the space in our kitchen. Our previous one we loved, since it was designed with more thought and the efficient use of space. In this new GE Profile a huge plastic light cover takes up so much space in the top of the refrigerator, that there is no way to stand a tall item at the back of the top shelf, and we still do not know how to change the light bulb when it burns out--there are very "sketchy" directions in the owners manual on how to do this, since the same model has different lighting arrangements. It depends on the "luck of the draw", I guess. Newer LED lighting would have been so much better. The 3 drawers on the bottom are much smaller than our previous GE Profile. The bottom drawer holds very little, The drawers are bulky, not trimmed with metal, but with space taking, wide plastic. The bottom shelf on the door is so narrow, that it will not accommodate a bottle of wine. This is not a "cheap" refrigerator, but it is designed like one. Thank goodness, we still have our old one in the garage. The old one holds most of the produce, cold drinks, etc., and was replaced, because the ice-maker kept leaking and parts of the ice-maker were breaking. We had to buy this, sight unseen, since it was not in stock. This we will never do again, but we were relying on our past experiences, and always being pleased with GE appliances, but not this time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Efficience and look great for my kitchen

I love the look, energy efficient, easy clean and friendly use. But it was difficult to find White color appliances now a day. It took 3 weeks to get all my white appliance delivered. I love GE cafe series, but don't make in white so I have to go with profile. However, it work great and beautiful.

Delightfully quiet!

Purchased to replace an older refrigerator. This is the quietest operating appliance I have ever seen/heard. With today's "open space" multiuse rooms, noise from appliances can be quite an issue. This GE Profile side-by-side refrigerator fits perfectly at cabinet depth and performs almost silently!!

I have not been pleased with this fridge. Too many repairs needed and not the quality I want. I do not recommend this fridge.

i HAVE JUST GOTTEN MY GE FRIDGE AND i CAN TELL THE PRODUCT IS MORE STURDY BUILT THAN MOST OTHERS THAT ARE IN THIS PRICE RANGE IT IS SPACEOUS AND THE QUALITY OF THE SHELVES SEEM VERY GOOD LOOKING FORWARD TO USING IT
