Better than buying a new fridge

The ice maker broke on my fridge a few years ago. After dealing with no ice and weighing the replacement costs of a new fridge JUST for an icemaker I looked into Whynter portable machines.
Instructions left a lot to be desired. I chose the model with the in-line water. The machine shipped with a flute plugged into the water line. There is a blue ring that must be removed before the pulg can be released. Zero mention of this in the instructions.
I'm very pleased with the performance of the ice maker. Once the temp gets down, ice is produced at a steady pace. First ice starts to drop 6-8 minutes after start. The dispenser holds enough ice to fill a 24oz cup. I have yet to make the Large size. The ice is bullet shaped with no sharp edges. Ice eaters will appreciate the smoothness.
I'm a sucker for convenience so the in line model was more my speed. I play lots of tennis in the summer and the lack of ice in the house or grabbing empty ice trays became a real drag. Room temp water is not my thing. Looking forward to finally having ice!!!

This ice machine is compact enough not to be in the way, but can produce so much ice! The cold water feature is also great. Highly recommend!
