Looks great, a few problems

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful appliance, looks great with the rest of my new Bosch appliances. The mounting template included in the box was wrong. So instead of a few hour install it took two days to repair the walls from using the template and doing a second install by measuring. Check before you do anything. The mounting bracket should by 17" from the top.
The bottom and the turntable also get very hot when the light is on. I'm going to see if it is possible to use a bulb that doesn't put out so much heat.

Complements our Bosch 30-inch slide-in range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently replaced a range, microwave, and dishwasher with Bosch appliances. The reviews of the Bosch 30-inch 800 series slide-in range and 800 series dishwasher can be seen elsewhere on this website. For the above-the-range microwave, we went with the Bosch 500 series. The only difference between the 500 series and 800 series is the 800 series offers an additional function for sensor cooking. Since we do not “cook” in our microwave (that is what a range is for), we saved $200 by going with the 500 series. With the exception of the sensor cooking, all of the other features in the 800 series are found in the 500 series. Like the range top, the microwave is much more powerful than the microwave it replaced. (It is also a bit larger, too.) Food that I would reheat at 80% power in the old microwave, I have to use 40%-50% power in the Bosch. This microwave has the built-in light and ventilation fan. It has a four-speed fan compared to the two-speed in the old microwave. The Bosch microwave comes with a removable rotating circular glass plate and a rack. The microwave’s design perfectly matches the Bosch range. I most definitely recommend the Bosch microwave, particularly if paired with a Bosch range. We are extremely pleased with our purchase of the three Bosch appliances.

Sleek and Simple!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just purchased the Bosch double oven with convection, so I wanted a simple microwave with no convection that didn't take a rocket scientist to operate. This microwave is roomy and modern with simple to use features. It looks beautiful over my cooktop, which is also Bosch.

Great Microwave Performance but exhaust?...nope!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The microwave's controls are laid out very logically and are first time user intuitive. I am not pleased with the fan. It screams and exhausts very little in the process even at the highest setting. Essentially we have no exhaust capability. We had the installation checked for possible vent to outside blockage. Nope, free and clear.

Microwave Install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The incorrect wall template was included with this microwave (it was about 3/4" to short for the height for the microwave). So when we installed the hanging bracket, the bracket was too high for the microwave to fit under the cabinet and to move the bracket lower, the hardware wings fall off into the wall. So we had to obtain new hardware to install the bracket lower. We were not impressed.

Logical Use of Space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wonderfully functional and lots of room. Love the freezer on the bottom with a drawer and divided into 2 compartments below drawer. Nice also to have an easy to turn off alarm when doors remain open too long!
