This comes as a small solid metal case with 16" cable. The performance difference was amazing when testing this with a standard type enclosure. Smaller files (1-4k) seen an increase in speed of 2-3x for both reading and writing. While larger files (8k-16mb) seen around a 15x performance increase. Disclaimer - I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.
