Great Tablet for...

its good if you want to play small games and watch YouTube or read a book
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight, Built-in speakers
Cons: Not high def, Poor quality

All of the games are in the Samsung Kids App that you CANNOT use even the "Free" trial on without putting in your credit card number. So it doesn't come with any games. Only basic apps like a clock and a calculator. The description made it sound so wonderful, but it's really just a regular Android tablet with a bumper on it. I just downloaded stuff off the Play Store. I could have bought a cheaper Kids Tablet if all I was going to use was the Play Store.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Android 4.4 is so out of date. Really sad that you haven't pushed an update. Newer apps don't support such archaic versions of Android.

Samsung Kids Tablet was great

It was great while it lasted, but recently we have had nothing but problems with the thing not powering on any longer. It charged and now nothing. Seems doing google searches for fixes all come to same conclusion, if button combination doesn't reset it, open it up and remove the power cable from the battery to the device. Taking it in to get it repaired over and over is no fun option either. Tell me there is a better solution Samsung, seriously contact me.

...until the 2019 update. Can't change parental timer settings without WiFi. Timer intervals WAY less useful than they were before the update. Apps often fail to appear on the home screen. We've only had the tablet for 4 months and the update made it feel like a clunky older tablet. Total fail on the upgrade. My 6-year-old loved it until then.

Better for younger kids

I bought 2 of these before Christmas for my 7 year old and 4 year old. They very quickly took them, but the first concern was who's was which. I wish there was more options for color of tablet/silicone case. Second concern was the Samsung Kids app, you get a month free and that's it. I feel that if I'm buying a tablet specifically for kids, it should have the app without extra fees. Third, the micro SD cards do not click in not matter what you do. I've had to tape the flap shut so they don't pop out. Fourth, memory (RAM), there are some apps that my children can't run because it doesn't have enough memory. I've removed apps, closed apps, etc, but they got frustrated quickly and were used for maybe a month and then put aside for other electronics/toys. Fifth, battery life/charging. These quickly run out of battery life, and when attempting to charge, if you are on any outlet/power strip with another cord plugged in, they do not charge. I had a similar problem with an earlier Samsung tablet, but that didn't happen until almost 2-3 years of owning it.
That all said, I believe this is a good tablet for younger kids (4 and under) who will use it minimally each day.

Quite Disappointing So Far

I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. When I first purchased it, I opened it, charged it and put some apps on which I thought she would like, I then shut it off. When she opened it for Christmas, I tried for 45 minutes to connect to wi fi. I finally was able to get connected was not impressed with the tablet at all. Was very slow and buggy. I set up the Samsung Kids subscription and that won't even work. You click on a downloaded game and it won't respond. I downloaded an app for an augmented reality book I bought her and that didn't work at all. I have it downloaded on my Note 10+ and it works beautifully. It also ran very warm.
