Ive had this case on my ipod for about 1 month and a half and I've gradually noticed that the material around the speaker port seems to be wearing very fast. The rubber like case is peeling around the hole were it doesn't anywhere else. I've had to take a my facial hair shaver to it to smooth it out again. Being a perfectionist it really annoys me why it does it in the first place. Other than that the other ports collect a lot of dust even though they are blocked off. I have to take the case off once a week to clean it out which is mostly a hassle because it takes a long time to take off, clean the device, clean both parts of the case and get it back on before more dust sticks to either the screen or the screen protector. In the future I may end up going with just a regular case and screen shield.
Pros: can take a huge fall, looks cool
Cons: rubber wears fast, gets dust inside quickly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've made several purchases from OtterBox to protect my very expensive Apple products from my iPhone to my iPad so when I needed something to protect my new iPod the choice was clear I "had" to have the Defender case & I'm very pleased w/this case purchase. The customer service is the best I think I've ever encountered...please don't ever change!!!

I bought an Otterbox case for my iPod a year ago. After a while of hard use, it developed a crack in the plastic on the bottom left corner under the screen. Other than that, it was great. I dropped it countless times and it performed perfectly. When I discovered the crack, I simply told Otterbox through their warranty program and was given a new case without a single hesitation. In my opinion, the warranty/ customer service is superior to most any other company! (Not to downplay the case any...) I would definitely recommend this case to anyone.

I got my Otterbox case in the mail today. Delivery was pretty quick. The package was nice-looking and easy to open. From the first feel, it felt nice. The instructions were easy to follow, but taking apart the case was a little hard, but that just means that it won't fall apart on you at any point. The ipod fits snug in the case and it seems to be nicely protected. The strap that comes with it is way better than the original ipod strap. The only small problem is that the buttons are a little hard to press, but I think over time, it will get easier. It is also very comfortable hold. It makes the ipod a little easier to hold than without a case, because without the case, it was too slim and kept falling out of my hands. Overall, it's a great case and it looks great too!
