Enjoy the phone

So far I have really enjoyed this phone. The difference between this phone and my previous phone is amazing. I keep running the battery down because I won't stop playing with this phone. My only problem so far is not being able to access the sd card but that could be my own fault for lack of experience.
Pros: Lightweight, Bright display
Cons: not able to access sd card

Poor Reception and no car dock.

Poor reception. Wi-Fi, 3g, 4g, phone reception, and even GPS are all well below my old Droid X and Razr Maxx; that’s a hardware issue. Even when in range it does not hold 4g well for some reason, it seems to switch to 3g a lot; that’s a software issue (Verizon) that can be fixed….I hope. Looking at all the forums, it appears that the blue phone has more reception issues than the white, which is probably just a coincidence. Perhaps the blue is manufactured in a different location.
No dedicated car dock like the Droid Razr and my old Droid X.
Lots of programs won’t work on this phone. I think some of that is because they are not updated to ICS yet, but some of those same programs work on the Razr running ICS, so I don’t understand how the Samsung is different.
S-Voice is not ready for prime-time which is surprising because it’s actually Vlingo, which I have used before and it always worked fairly well for me.
Most of the Touch-Wiz specific software, which was one of the selling points for Samsung, are just gimmicks; though some are useful. Wi-Fi direct works well, and I did use S-Beam once.
Screen brightness is a bit low, but not a major factor. I do like the large screen, which was a major factor in my purchase. Movies look great as does just about anything on the screen.
I know I’m really slamming this phone, and to be honest I should have returned it, but I only had a week and a half to test it out before leaving on a trip, so I ended up keeping it.
I do have hope for improvements. First, given time, as I learn about all the nuances of the phone, I may grow to like it’s features more. Second, I’m hoping software updates can cure some of the issues the phone currently has. I’m also hoping more vendors come out with dedicated car docks.

Hoping replacement phone solves problems

Phone looks fantastic. But problems with GPS and memory access are making me re-think my purchase. The home screen displays my location as 4.5 miles away from where I really am (displays entirely different town). And operational GPS can not find/hold GPS signal. If I am lucky enough to have a GPS lock the satellite view of my driving route shows me driving thru tress and lakes. After discussions with tech support was told hard reset only viable option. But hard reset looked like it wiped my SD card instead of phone memory. But on attaching phone to laptop I can see files on SD card but phone thinks phone memory is SD card! Will activate replacement phone tomorrow and will update. Note I have son and friend with same phone and no problems so hoping for best. Samsung support was VERY helpful. THey spent close to 1/2 hour on phone with me. Only concern is they thought it was a SW issue not HW, so am anxious to see if replacement phone has same problems and I have to wait for SW update. If not for these problems phone would hands down be 5 stars. Until I get a phone that does not have these problems I can only give it 2 stars and recommend that people wait until these issues are resolved

love this phone. i have own other Samsung phone in the past but i must say by far this is the best one.
Pros:
-beautiful & great size screen
-ram & processor make it very fast & smooth
-light weight, very comfortable overall size
-camera much better than some premature reviews
-ice cream & widgets give advantage over iOS

Really love this phone. Has great features, and FLIES on my provider's LTE network. Very good boot-up times, wi-fi network sign-on almost immediate, and scads of options. Well done, Samsung!

Verizon and Samsung Galaxy Not Working Together

I am on my second S G III phone, 4th SIMS card and still have the same problems. Calls dropped, not receiving calls or texts. And get this, the clock changes to random times of the day and night. therefore the alarm feature is not realiable. Only way to reset time is to turn phone off. At 5:00 pm EST one day phone said it was 3:18 am EST. Verizon not helping, just want to update or reset to factory setting then sent me a reconditioned phone. SAMSUNG offered great phone tech support. Sending phone to Samsung. They said the software or hardware may be burning up the SIMS card. We will find out in 2 weeks. Saw other VERIZON customer comments, thinking VERIZON may be the problem with signal and service.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This phone is GREAT!

There are so many things you can do with this phone other than talk. This is my first smartphone and I am really liking it. One of the many features is the ability to add an SD card, so you have added storage for pictures, videos and songs.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
