As this is my first smartphone I really don't have anything to compare with but it has surpassed all my expectations. It's like having a computer at my fingertips. My wife and I both bought Galaxy S3s and we couldnt be happier. Our last phone was also a Samsung (Zeal), so we knew of the qwuality of the build and long lastingness.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, fun
I would recommend this to a friend!

This products WiFi doesn't work

I have had continued problems getting WiFi to work on this product. It works for a short time and then the only way to get it to work is to reset device back to factory defaults. A replacement phone works the exact same way.
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

over all a good phone, but with quirks

phone is fast, very fast, great screeen, excellent speaker volume, good voice recog, almost too light weight, amazing camera....now the quirks, the phone will not allow you to assign a different ring tone to email and txt msg alerts, same sound no matter the type of alert, a wifi request everytime you open email, even if you have wifi turned off, it does not override the the need to ask for wifi connection. honestly the batery life is ok, better then many worse then a few. i am a heavy user and would like an exended batt, but i have a 2nd and an external charger so i always have a back up batt charged, the phone does not come with any loud ring tones, alerts, or alarms.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Lightweight, camera, easy to use
Cons: inability to assign tones to different alerts, wifi alert always on, no loud ringtones
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall a great phone

Only complaints are the Verison locked bootloader and accessability by apps for the extSDCard.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: accessability of the storage in the microsd slot

Overall Good Phone with Pros & Cons

So far a GOOD phone. Lots of good stuff that the few bad things do not diminish. Enjoying the 4.8 inch screen very much. S Voice is not very responsive and sometimes inaccurate. It also drains a lot of battery to have the phone ready to respond to my beckon call. The calendar feature does not limit the repeatable events so when I put in a Repeat event into my Google Calendar it ends up being a repeat event forever instead of the limited repeat I put into Google Calendar. Speaker phone could be better. The motion stuff is mostly awkward so I've turned it off. Some good stuff: Really like the headphones/mic that came with it, they sound great. Also, like most of the other features of having 4G, fast processor, big screen, good camera, and it feels great in my hand. Overall I'm pleased with this purchase.
Pros: Lightweight, good display, headphones/mic, good camera, fast processor
Cons: s voice disappointing, speaker phone pics up background noise, strange calendar sync issue

Good equipment! Fast, with decent batt life. Big screen; nice! Touch is responsive.
I like the menu soft buttons.

I have had several smartphones and the S3 is hands down the best one. Android now has a phone that is way better than any other on the market

Never ceases to amaze

I'm new to Android and continue to learn how to operate it and tweak it to my liking. Overall, I LOVE this phone. It is quick and loaded with many bells and whistles. My only real gripe is the difficulty seeing the screen when sunny outdoors. I'm sure this was done in part to preserve battery life.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Too big, slightly lacking screen brightness
