Pricey but worth it!

I wanted this phone because of the size. It is the first phone I found that fit comfortably in my hand. I bought the Otter Box because the phone is very lightweight and I needed it durable for work and my luck with phones is not too good. It has great features although the S-Voice could have been a better thought out feature. Oh and the alarm clock is WAY too quiet. A few little things that could be better but the phone itself overall is great, a little pricey, but I would still recommend it.
I switched from iPhones to Android last year, now that I have the S3 everything is great! This phone takes all the abilities to customize from Android and puts it with the smoothness from a top quality phone!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just What I Expected, a Great Phone

At this point I think we all know the great advantages of this device so I'll focus on a few things that I didn't like. First Touchwiz. It functions well and the interface is very smooth. The icons look like they came from Gingerbread, Android 2.3. The bottom launcher menu isn't very flexible, I prefer a more stock Android interface. This is easily changed with launchers found in the market. Next is the notification bar toggle menu. It is a great idea and I've used Roms that have done this before and I really like it. I still had to add a custom widget for brightness, NFC, fine volume adjustment, and flashlight. I wish those were included in the notification bar, or the ability to edit it and switch them with other functions. Second is the battery usage. I do get a full day on a charge with moderate usage but I notice there is a lot of power used by the cell stand by, screen and the device idle. I think there is going to be a fix for this coming soon though since I've heard some others noticing some issues here. I guess I thought the Amoled screens were less power hungry. I thought it would be brighter too. Third is the pre-loaded wallpapers and sounds. I understand the "nature" theme but I'm a man and everything is very feminine. I had to download some different options. Also, there seems to be an issue with setting downloaded pictures and pictures form the camera as wallpaper on the home screen. For some reason it makes you select only a portion of the image as if it was for the lock screen. This makes them "unscrollable" with homescreen transitions. The fitment isn't that great either, there is gaps around some of the edges. Again, I think this is something that will be fixed in a software update eventually. Fourth, I will talk about some miscellaneous shortcomings. The sound from apps that stream movies, I guess I cant use names, is tinny and quiet. I wish there was a master EQ for all media. You don't notice it so much when using the built in speaker but it is pronounced when using external speakers via the audio jack. The WIFI and Cellular data reception is weaker than my last phone which limits my range at home more and I find that when on cellular data there is more buffering than I'm accustom to. I really thought I'd get better 4G coverage. The body construction seems easily scratch-able and I don't think it matches the durability of the excellent glass used on the screen. Physical home button; why are you there? Why doesn't it come with a car charger and why isn't there a model specific car dock with the usb integrated yet? When using Bluetooth HIDs (Android specific keyboard and mouse) there is an annoying amount of lag. Oh the locked bootloader, that's the carriers fault though. Thanks to Samsung for offering a Developer edition. Somehow wanting to run a custom ROM makes you a developer I guess. All in all, many of these issues will most likely be updated and fixed later though, I hope.
Cons: touchwiz, multitasking, 4g reception, battery usage, phone body cosmetics

This is a really great phone. The 4.8" screen is really good for watching movies and reading books. Phone is buttery smooth with no lags whatsoever. It has an outstanding speaker on the back for playing music and watching movies. Battery life using 4G LTE is great. I've had 2 other 4G phones and the SIII blows them out the the water when it comes to battery life. I love that Samsung has 1 design across the globe because the accessories are going to be great. With out a shadow of doubt, the best phone I have ever owned. Great job Samsung and I'll be looking forward to the great phones that you will have in the future.
This was my first smartphone. I was very pleasantly surprised how easy it was to operate. There are a few tricks you need to know (e.g. a long press to bring up a context menu or select an item) but over all it was very easy to get used to. I only needed to call the store to find out how to turn it off. (previous smartphone users would probably have known this). The message indicator is nice, unobtrusive but visible. A lot better that getting beeps. Love the notifications drop down. I had the phone shipped to our dealer, so they put in the sim, but after I found out how to turn it off, adding the SD card was a snap. I used it all day, and was down to 37% battery by bedtime. So I swapped in a spare battery and stayed up late, just like my first computer decades ago. Very glad I waited for a phone like this one. Size and weight are nice. Display is easy to read, resolution is beautiful. We have had very good experiences with previous Samsung phones, and so far this is even bettter.
Pros: Lightweight
