[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did not realize until we bought this printer that ink cartridges AND printer drum might need replacement. We had only needed to replace ink in years past. When our printer indicated that it needed ink replacement, we accidentally ordered a new printer drum not noticing that these were two different items. The printer still needed ink! So then we ordered the ink cartridge and, now we have an extra printer drum which apparently lasts quite a while. Happy so far with the new ink cartridge.

I have been pleased with HP replacement cartridges in the past, but I have not yet used this cartridge. I have been getting notifications that the original cartridge is low on toner for weeks. I have printed hundreds of pages since the notifications first started but so far have not run out of toner in the original cartridge. I do appreciate that I get an early heads up so that I have plenty of time to acquire a replacement. I do like my new MFP M227, as is true for all of my many HP printers over the years , however I was disappointed to get a notification just a few days after my purchase that this was an older model and that there would no longer be HP support for this model.
