QC IS LACKING ON WOOD CHIP TRAY FLAME GOES OUT

Wood chip tray will not slide all the way in to close door, I have to lift it over back rail which makes it not level. flame will go out with any wind blowing. I could not get it over 200 degrees to cook. Gas to air is not adjustable, so at my higher altitude I cannot add more air to flame.

This propane smoker looks pretty inside and out but it doesn't heat up very well.
Even when cranking the temperature it stays low.
I don't know if I have a defective unit but not happy with it at all!
I used it several times and it has been disappointing.

The directions were very clear. Everything went together well. Smokes very well. Hard to keep temp if windy. Needs a skirt around the bottom to help with wind. Smoker did well.

I bought the 36 inch vertical smoker and after smoking pork butt, brisket and ribs am happy I did. It is a small smoker and probably won't smoke a 18 pound turkey or a large full brisket but the smoker is well built, the temperature holds even and it is perfect for my purposes. The smoker was easy to assemble and the propane heat source holds an even temperature.
