Opting for a 2016 3D model instead of this one
on January 24, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the 55" 1080p curved OLED specifically for the 3D, which was totally free of ghosting and my favorite consumer electronic product I ever bought. I opted for the LG 55" 1080p passive 3D OLED over 65" 4K active LED screens not just because the OLED was the most beautiful TV image I'd ever seen, but the 3D left all competitors in the dust.
I'm with Manochism on the disappointment and disagree entirely with Kyleplier's response. Admittedly it's a niche market, but for those of us out there who are major fans of stereoscopy, this ain't no gimmick. Of the dozens of friends who have watched 3D movies in my living room, nobody ever complained about eyestrain.
3D is WAY more popular in Germany and the Pacific Rim countries, so I expect TV manufacturers will keep serving those markets for a few years, but it looks like 3D TVs are clearly about to get crazy expensive to acquire within the USA. I was going to wait a few months for a newer model before upgrading to LG's 65" 4K, but as a guy with a collection of 120+ 3D Blu-rays who plans on buying more in the future, I'd better grab a 2016 model this weekend while I still can. I can accept that I'm part of an oddball niche that's too small to be commercially viable, but I'm still bummed that LG hasn't continued to champion 3D technology as they have so far.
Pros: Performance, Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'd love this TV? As someone who is house bound, I could find myself watching movies more often.
Though, I don't use 3D as it causes seizures. The web Browsing is an awesome feature?
Removing some of the fluff to reduce cost would be dynamic.

Looks better, performs same as 2016 model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 2014 55" 1080 oled. I loved it so much I had to have the 2016 65" "E" model. I thought for sure that besides the 10 extra inches that it would make all the regular programs just that much better as well. It didn't. I have these 2 sets side by side in my living room as I like to watch sports, so by having 2 sets I can have the sound down on one and still watch multiple events. By having the 2 next to each other I can really compare the sets. The 2016 E is only better when watching a 4k show. And that difference is minimal. The 2014 1080 seems to be a bit sharper on all other programming. So if you are on the fence about price, I'd still try and buy the older models as there is not enough difference to justify the price on the 7, unless you absolutely want the thinner set. There are some benefits to the separate control box, like how the hdmi cables plug in on the 2016 model make it not fit very tight to the wall, but other than that it's the same tv. Also price should be dropping within the next 2 years as all other manufacturers are coming out with versions of oled.

Best 4K OLED TV on the market

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I feel really bad for everyone who has been fooled by the letters QLED by other companies. There is nothing like OLED by LG. The only thing I’m missing is the 3-D which I have already but would like it in this model. Please update the software to make it 3-D
