Great Idea, Room for Improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the idea of an ultra thin display while putting all of the components in a separate wired enclosure (in this case the soundbar). Some have complained about the ribbon cable but as long as the picture is crisp, I don't care what kind of cable they used.
However, the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because there should be an option to use a smaller component enclosure instead of the soundbar. A TV this size and impressive should have its own premier stand alone audio system. I imagine most owners wouldn't use the included soundbar so a smaller enclosure that is easily hidden would be much more favorable.
Pros: Performance, Quality, easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing piece of design and engineering! At first glance, visitors think our TV is built into the wall. It truly looks like a picture/painting. Picture is second to none. The true blacks add another complete dimension to movie watching. I didn't think it would have that much impact. My wife and I have gone back to watch every movie we've seen in the past 10 years!
My only negative is the included sound bar, which I have no use for, since I already have an installed 5.1 audio system. An alternative smaller electronics-only unit should be created, specifically for installations like this.

Why the short ribbon cable?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the overall design and the picture quality. Fantastic TV!!!!!
However, from an installation standpoint, I think LG missed the mark. Putting a giant sound bar on the wall below the TV kind of defeats the purpose of the ultra flat display on the wall.
Why not offer a long ribbon cable to run to a remote location, and/or a small connection hub box that can be hidden behing the TV in the wall, or remotely located?
Seems to me that most people that will spend the money to purchase one of these sets, will also most likely have a surround system in place and not have the need for the included sound bar.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow!. That was the word I will choose for the display and audio on this tv. First of all I read multiple mixed reviews from the previous owners and have 50% fear until I experienced this product. Lg shipped it fast in about 2 days :) . I unboxed it and installation instructions looked straight forward, but there was a bit of hassle in installation at my home with nails in wall :( . when i switched on it lg software updated and took some easy initial steps but thats not it I choose to write this review because of the video and audio quality of the picture. Lg did a very good job in preserving each pixel in that picture and dolby experience is breathtaking with surround switched on. I havent seen any pixel blurring like many reviews posted even in high 4k settings. There are some areas of improvement needed with providing inbuilt google chromecast for this model. I think lg soved that in w9. I have never used miracast before so it was kind of an exploration for me and all the miracast apps are purchase/subscription only. Webos under lg is improving a lot. As a programmer myself I Can see how good the new webos update is. I heard the dolby experience is managed by software rather that the audio speaker below(how did they do that?!!!) . Lastly, when ever I switched on tv there was a cool cinema theatre sound and the way speakers coming from sound bar is just awesome.

Great picture with disappointing audio

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are remodeling and decided to get the 65 inch "wallpaper" TV to open up space in our small living room. From this standpoint it has worked out well. Like others have said, for those with a good AV sound system it would be nice to provide a small AV box that could be hidden. Since I knew there was no such option, I won't deduct any stars for this. But I will deduct 2 stars for not having a way to add a subwoofer to the included sound bar (aka AV bar). As best I can tell, I HAVE to use an external sound system (AV receiver) to use a subwoofer (in which case no sound can come from the sound bar--what a waste). Since this seems to be the case, it would have been nice to at least let the sound bar act as the center speaker for a home theater system. That way, the sound bar would be useful as more than a connection box. But this can't be done either. Unless I am wrong, this is a poor design. (It would even be nice if a wireless subwoofer could be used a la the inexpensive 2.1 LG sound bar.)
Pros: Style/Design
