I received a free watch in exchange for agreeing to write a review.
I don't wear watches so this took time to get used to. I liked the color and the screen, but it was just to bulky for me. The app was easy to install and sync with my smartphone. It seemed to be pretty accurate. For people who like watches I am sure they will love this. I needed my husband to help get it started but after he did I understood it fairly quickly. The screen was easy to read so that was a plus. I will continue to try it out. I will always try Philips products and continue to use them.
Pros: love the app and syncing to your smartphone.
Cons: bulky

I received a free sample of the Philips watch. Easy to assemble. Sleek design and can account and track for calories intake, heart rate, calories burned in different types of exercise. This and other health devices can be monitored to get a more complete profile of your health in the Philips Health app. compared to monitoring health aspects separately.

Nice health tracking watch

I received this watch for free in exchange for my honest review.
My spouse`s employer requires employees and their spouses to track health in a special portal in exchange for lower insurance premiums. So when I received this watch, I was excited to be able to track some of the information required by my husband`s employer.
The watch comes with two bands. The larger band was a bit big, so I swapped out for the smaller band. I think I will swap back to the larger band as the watch feels a bit snug with the smaller band. Fortunately it is fairly simple to swap out the bands. I had to consult the instructions, but they were easy to follow.
The watch is a bit bulky. I do not usually wear a watch and wearing the Philips watch took some adjustment for me. It is not too heavy, but I rarely forgot I had it on.
It took a while to figure out how to use it. This is a product where it is a good idea to read the instructions. I became frustrated trying to swipe the screen until I realized I was just doing it wrong. Once I read the instructions, it was obvious how to use the watch.
I love that I can set the clock display to analog or digital.
I also love that I can see my heart rate especially when it feels like it might be beating a bit faster than usual. I sync my results with the free Philips mobile health app and can see patterns over time.
I also like that I can get a bit of insight into my sleeping habits. I am not sure how accurate it is though as I wore it one night while I was very sick and I know I did not sleep well (lots of tossing and turning and coughing). The sleep efficiency came back in the 90% range -- better than when I felt like I had slept much more soundly. So... I would take that information with a grain of salt.
The activity tracker is very handy for tracking steps and other physical activity, which I must do for my husband`s employer to get the insurance reduction. This tracker does not connect to his employer`s health portal, which means I have to manually enter it. It`s not ideal, but do-able. I hope it will eventually sync automatically.
I can use the watch to track food intake too, which I hope to do soon. I entered a few things and found it easy to do, but it is not something I really want to spend time doing. The mobile app food entry was much easier to do but it is nice to have an option through the watch.
The watch needs to be charged through a USB port, which I can only do if I have my computer nearby. It is not very convenient, and I wish I had an electrical outlet plug with USB port to plug the watch into.
I do not have experience with other wearable activity trackers to know how this compares, but I am very happy with how the Philips watch works and what data it collects. I am now ready to participate in my husband`s employer`s next health challenge as I can track everything through the watch instead of guessing what to enter.
Cons: bulky feeling, sleep tracking accuracy is questionable

Expected more.

EDIT: There was an app update and now the food and calorie tracking is very much improved. You can now enter a food and it will populate several brands of that item so you can pick the exact thing you ate. I entered 'mac and cheese' and over 400 choices populated! I am very pleased with this update.
this watch is part of Philips Connected App line of Health products. Here is what I have to say about the Philips Health Watch thus far.
Good: -easy to sync to phone and the Philips app.
-app pretty user friendly. You can look up all the FAQ there instead of having to go to their website.
-step accuracy seems right in line with my other fitness tracker. I wore both one day and total steps were within 100 of each other.
-sedentary alert feature. I actually enjoyed this. Set it for whatever increment you want. A gentle vibration/buzz will occur when you have not been moving!
-measures many areas besides activity. Sleep, heart rate, calories as well.
-it does have an alarm clock and includes a 9 minute snooze feature.
-captures heart rate.
Not so good:
-cannot connect to smartphone to receive phone calls, texts, play music, take pics and receive email notifications like many other smart health watches.
-the instructions advise to remove during showers and baths. I always wear my other wearable in the shower so this is an inconvenience for me.
-the food/drink application needs a lot of work. It estimates the calories based on the size portion you enter: small, medium or large and what type of food event: drink, breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. Really that is it! I think it is a complete waste of time to use this since they are truly guessing at what you ate. I entered `medium lunch'. It entered 561 calories. OK. But my medium lunch could have been a diet frozen dinner for 250 calories or a loaded burrito for 900. I feel other apps out there are much more effective and unfortunately you cannot link the Philips app to other fitness/food apps for more accurate calorie data.
-It does not start tracking active minutes until you have been moving for at least 9 minutes. Again this does not work for me at all. I do interval bursts throughout the day, 50 squats here, a 2 minute plank there etc... and it shows a big goose egg for all my efforts that tend to add up to about 20 minutes a day.
-the graphics on the watch seem quite archaic and subpar. It needs better graphics, maybe some colors--something.
-the app takes some time to sync up every time I open it. We are only talking 20-30 seconds but still. Other apps sync in seconds.
-I wish the watch had a `snapshot' screen for my active minutes and steps. Often I will take a quick walk to knock out a 1,000 steps and I want to easily look down at my watch to know when I hit it.
Overall I was underwhelmed and think this watch has a lot of catching up to compete with current smart health watches on the market. In a world of multi-tasking products this one seems very limited.
I received this product in exchange for my honest review.

Solid Competition to Other Wearables- Great when paired with Other Phillips Health Products

The Smart Watch with Mobile app integration was great. It rivals other products on the market who specialize in the wearables market... You know the names. It is basic functionality and interface can be a little glitchy as you are maneuvering through screens. Nevertheless, it is unique in that many other devices do not have the other products that can be paired with it, ie. the smart weight scale, blood pressure monitor, of which I have both. So when it integrates into my mobile app, it paints a big picture as opposed to other devices that may only offer steps, heart rate, etc. The display is simple which some will prefer. I am one who likes color displays so it was a slight turn-off. Otherwise, it is a great device. I should mention that I was sent a free sample to use for this review. Nevertheless, I would strongly consider this device if I was in the market for a wearable to track my activity throughout the day/night, as it tracks your sleep as well.
Pros: ease of use, stylish, bluetooth, mobile app
Cons: non-color display

Nice watch with multiple tracking functions

I received this watch as a free sample to review. Overall I am impressed with this watch because of its style, but also because of its functionality. I was not really in the market for a health watch prior but now I can adapt to the benefits that this watch provides. Not only does it serve as a pedometer, but also an exercise tracker, alarm clock, timer, and food tracker, it also serves as a sleep monitor. When the sleep monitor is used in sync with the health app it provides a lot more info. You can log your meals and drinks within the watch itself as well as your weight when synced with the Philips scale. User friendly so kids can use this with ease as well as the elderly. One touch light for night time and a lock so it doesn`t accidentally get changed. Seems to be fairly durable.
Pros: durable, long battery life, comes with charger, one touch functions, sync with app
Cons: only one size for male and female

A Basic Health Watch that is big and clunky
on September 9, 2016

I received the health watch in exchange for my honest review. It is a rather big and clunky watch. It looks very big on my small arm. I have unfortunately banged the watch into things due to its size. At first it seemed very easy to pair with the Philips App. However it stopped pairing at all and the only way to get it back is to drop it from the phone entirely and lose my data.
I wore my other fitness tracking watch and used my phone to record my daily steps in comparison with the Philips watch. The Philips watch always gave me about 2000 less steps than the other trackers which is significant on 10,000 steps per day!
The sleep tracker is very basic. I think it only counts deep sleep when using it in comparison to my other fitness watch which also tracks light sleep.
I had a hard time using the swipe and picking an application from the touch screen initial setting on the watch. I would try to get into the sleep application and accidentally end up in the food application. I don`t have large fingers but the layout of the applications on the watch face seem to always give me issues getting into the one I intend to access.
Overall I found it to be a rather basic watch in comparison to other fitness watches available.
Pros: very good at tracking heart rate
Cons: big and clunky, seems difficult to swipe on watch face, pairing issues and loss of data, inaccurate at tracking steps, back light has only two settings
