Quality Sound

The R-110SW sub is an unbelievable component to my home theater system. I was debating between this sub and the R-112, but I am happy I settled for "smaller" if I can actually refer to the R-110SW as small, and for my wife's sake. The sub blends in extremely well with my theater system. For such a strong subwoofer it truly does not overpower the center and other surround sound speakers. I am a big home movie fan, and I have rewatched several movies since adding the sub and it's like watching them for the first time all over again. For those of you who are contemplating if the R-110SW is big enough or strong enough, IT IS!!!! I was blown away by the "bump" the sub puts out. Again, it sounds clear, but when I really turned up the volume to watch a movie the whole first floor felt like it was vibrating. For the great Klipsch price, you can go ahead and go bigger with the R-112 or R-115 but it honestly might be more bass than you need. My neighbors are not going to like me for long. Thanks Klipsch for such amazing quality speakers. It is impressive how you can push the speakers to the limit and the quality of sound is never compromised. I will never buy speakers from another company. After I installed all of my new Klipsch speakers my dad stopped by to check them out, he is now looking to improve his sound system through Klipsch. If I had to list a Con: the sub is heavy!!! I figured it would be, but it is heavy. 42.5 lbs. In summary, buy this sub, trust me, it is more than strong enough for any of your music or theater needs. Then again, I am a audio lover that wants the bass to compliment and blend in with my music/movies not vibrate the house off it's foundation.
Pros: Attractive, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Audio
Cons: Heavy

2 are nice, 4 are better

Originally picked up 2 R-110SW to replace an older Yamaha sub and a Klipsch sub. They were great, but then wanted a bit more so grabbed another 2 a few months down the road. With the 4 of them, the output is quite nice and their size is another factor that I like. They don't go ridiculously low, but they add enough depth and punch when I can up the volume without disturbing the neighbors. Already have had a complaint by one neighbor that the low impact was disturbing their newborn, I could only smile about it. I have since been a better neighbor, but I definitely want to push these things much harder. No complaints, nice build quality and their looks are another plus. Actually, I do have 1 very minor complaint, I wish the grills attached magnetically like my Reference Premier speakers versus having the little nubs showing when grill removed. Would like to show off that copper, but the nubs bother me too much so the grills stay in place. Very, very minor bickering on my part. Don't let that distract you from a terrific product.

Tight & Accurate

I have this paired with a set of 160m bookshelves, 250c front and 240s surrounds. I live in an apartment and don't want to be "that guy" with the loud sound system, so I have this sub turned really low, around 30% for a 100sq ft living room and -6.5db on the receiver and it is more than enough. I've got it sitting on a subdude isolating platform and found that overall it really fills out the sound. It especially excels with music reproduction. Absolutely beautiful in that regard. I've found the majority of bass seems to come from my front bookshelf speakers to my surprise, so I could get away without the sub since I'm not looking for ground shaking bass right now. So this would probably be the last thing I would add to a system, if you're building it piece by piece. Aesthetics are beautiful, and the 110SW and larger variants match the reference premier products perfectly with a true ceremetallic woofer. While I can't compare with the cheaper klipsch subs, if you're building an RP system, I would stick with the 110, 112 or 115 so they match. All reference premier equipment also has a black brushed polymer covering which gives it a very premium look. I'm guessing this material is expensive, as my center and bookshelves only have this material on the cabinet face. The rest of the cabinet is black wood. However this sub is completely covered in the polymer. So if looks are important, this thing is a beauty. See attached pic with bluray for scale. It's not a small sub, nor is it lightweight, so measure and make sure you have the room for it. Finally - the build is extremely solid. Again, I'm not blasting this thing, but even at moderate volumes the actual box doesn't even vibrate. I've got this sub hooked up to the wireless kit which is a snap to setup and makes for a clean install. The sub powers on automatically when it detects a signal and turns off automatically. Overall, no complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend this, or the larger variants for bigger rooms.

Perfect match for my bookshelf speakers

Added this subwoofer to my R-15pm speakers (an excellent product as well) for my home office. Once I dialed in the gain, these match seamlessly with the bookshelf speaker. Fantastic sound even at very low volumes. It of course is great when you crank things up too. Absolutely no unwanted rattles or vibrations from the well build cabinet.

Great sound, but Auto power mode no worky

The auto power mode times out and then won't wake up until I manually flip the switch. What's the point of that? And if I just leave it on, there is a constant rumbly hum. Otherwise, it sounds great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
