At first I wanted floor standing speakers. But being that I'm in an apartment with a 80" credenza, I simply don't have the floor space. So I settled for the next best option - 160m, 6.5" woofer bookshelf speakers. And wow, these do not disappoint. They're actually quite large, so I had to turn them on their side and put them in the credenza so they didn't get in the way of my wall mounted Sony 900e 75" TV. This setup makes for a very compact home theater, if you're wanting big sound without overpowering your decor, or if your significant other wants a more minimalist setup. See attached pic. The base is removable in case you need to lay them on their side or wall mount them, which is an excellent feature. The bass on these things is incredible. I have a 110sw sub and honestly 80% of the bass which I thought was coming from the sub, is actually coming from these bookshelves. I'm a fan of midrange, warm speakers. I hate bright speakers, and the regular reference series I heard in best buy worried me. These however are so much better. Very clear highs for great imaging, but not fatiguing or harsh in any way. It would actually be very easy for the bass on these speakers to overpower the highs, if you can believe it. But the horn loaded design powers through and the whole thing sounds balanced. Imaging quality with all reference premier speakers has been truly impressive. I use a 250c for my center channel which is actually the star of my system for dialogue and imaging, and these bookshelves offload the lower frequencies so the center can shine with a higher crossover. As far as aesthetics, the brushed black polymer on the face of the speaker is very nice and feels premium. The whole cabinet is well crafted, and the magnetic grills are a snap, although I don't use them. Bottom line - this is the best solution if you want big audio output in a smaller form factor. I have no regrets by downsizing from a floor speaker. These are a fantastic solution.

I've been living with this speaker in a simple 2.1 A/V setup for over 8 months. I don't believe in reviewing products ( especially speakers) straight out of the box. Out of the box, this speaker showed promise. It was fairly adept at both music & video reproduction (not all speakers are). Bass was wonderful, midrange was good & the treble was smooth but not as detailed & extended as I would've liked. Then I began the break-in........ Driver integration began to show improvement after 60 hours. The tweeter started to loosen up after 100+ hours & continued to improve up to about 200 hours. Detail was there, the upper frequency extended & the bit of horn beaming that I had detected earlier had disappeared. This was all done at moderate levels so it may have taken longer than someone who really pushes the volume. The bottom line for me is that this is a speaker that does both audio & video equally well. It really shines in that roll & it does so in a very attractive package at an excellent price.
Pros: Attractive, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Audio

I love klipsch products! They make a very good product for the price. I have heard different brands of speakers like B&W 685 S2 bookshelf speakers monitor audio bronze series Martin Logan bookshelf speakers. Don't get me wrong about these three brands that I listed on here, they are very good brands and they sound very good. But they are way more money then the klipsch RP-160m. To be honest I do like the klipsch RP-160M a lot better because they are brighter in sound very detail for the price.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Audio
Cons: Heavy / Bulky

I have older smaller Klipsch bookshelf speakers that still sound awesome, was looking for more bang, these rp 160 kept popping up on great reviews, finally pulled the trigger when they went on sale. All I can say is WOW ! Such room filling sound, highs, lows no distortion no matter how much I pushed them. I actually had a tear rolling down my eye after first break in session, I am so happy. To find this sound at this price is a home run.
Pros: Energy Efficient, Good Audio

I decided to buy these speakers to finally make the "quality leap"... and I must say that there was everything. First of all, the construction: assembly, materials and finishes are really high level, with details such as the beautiful inclined base and the wonderful magnetic dust covers with six anchor points; the ebony finish is really captivating and elegant, but at the same time much less delicate than that (equally beautiful) black piano. The sound: I was looking for speakers with an open and detailed sound and these turned out to be perfect in this sense, with some pluses, such as a beautiful brightness on the range of frequencies that are positioned between the middle and the top, a punch on the very low average bass and precise, a bass that, considering the dimensions of the cabinets and woofers (declared to be 16.5 cm but effective are about 14), is very respectable, a truly amazing linearity even at quite high pressure levels, where other speakers would suffer and they would be in crisis, introducing a lot of distortion into the environment; the voices, above all the female ones, are delicate and well present in the musical message, the speed of response to transients is lightning. Another thing that I immediately noticed: these are speakers prepared for a possible biwiring, so the two pairs of terminals are connected to each other by the usual thin jumpers in Gold Plated Brass. In most cases, with other speakers, it is really necessary to replace the standard jumpers with others in more precious material or with pieces of OFC Copper cable to obtain a good sound; these Klipsch instead are also excellent in the normal configuration, so as not to feel the need to try out even for curiosity other jumpers of greater value: the speakers, once installed, are really plug-and-play. Extremely satisfied, five full stars... excellent products! Without considering the fact that after the break-in, the speakers should improve further. Highly Recommended!
