I try to always get a case to wrap my phone in. These devices are not cheap, and these defender cases can protect these phones from a fall that would ruin the display. Because I've used them for years I know a phone can survive just about anything I'd put it through. Slip out of hand, drop down a staircase, stepped on, water spills etc.. Ive never had a phone ever show any signs of damage. Now I can keepy shiny new PixelXL safe.
New phone meant new case. I have two young chikdren, so I decided to spend the money on the OtterBox. I'm happy I did. It was my first one, and a little confusing to put on, but now that it is it feel solid. I've dropped my phone, no problem. The screen protector isn't bad or too annoying. I'd recommend.
Am a big fan of Otter Box products. I only wish there were more colors to pick from. I would really like to have several "outer covers" in different designs and colors to change out. Love how it fits my new Pixel XL.
I always buy a defender case for my phones because of the clip and it always keeps it in great condition. The only down side to this case is you can not clip it both ways into the clip. It only clips one way. I know it is because the buttons on the phone but they could have put another place to clip offset on the non button side so I could clip it in securely. I accidently put it in the wrong way and it fell out. Good thing I noticed it or I might have lost it. Other than that on this one I think it is great.
I've had my case for a few weeks now and I love it! It doesn't add too much weight to my phone. It slides easily in and out of pants pockets and I've dropped it a couple times already and my phone e is completely protected!
I've used an OtterBox Defender on my old DroidMaxx, as well as this new Pixel XL. Both cases handle my daily abuse of warehouse-type work.
The belt clip, however, does not. As with the Droid clip, the Pixel XL clip can get caught on random environmental hazards and will break off. Mine did after a week.
Still, this relatively minor flaw is not enough for me to say it's a bad product. The case itself will withstand A LOT of abuse. My old DroidMaxx still looks new-in-box after two years, and given the similar design for the Pixel XL I feel I can expect the same performance from this case.
So, overall: a solid case that will deliver promised protection to your device. If I were to make a change, though, I'd try to eliminate as many moving parts on the clip as possible.
I have always trusted and used otterbox with my phones and with my investment in the google pixel XL there was no question which case I would invest in. I just wish that I could have got my favourite color style camo and flame orange.
