Functional and Charming!

I have a small kitchen with all white appliances and now with my white range sitting next to my white Amana refrigerator, my kitchen is functional and charming at the same time.

I find this Gas Range to be great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this range for a week now. I am very happy with it. Only thing I miss with it is having a broiler pan with it. If I had known it did not have one I would have kept the one from my old gas range.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this range for a year now and it has been put through the test. My wife bakes a lot and I broil a lot.
Our previous range was an Amana similar model that we were very satisfied with for 10 years.
And after having the new range for a year we have some pros and some cons.

On the con side:
*The lettering on the control knobs is hard to read. White letters on a stainless steel like finish makes the lettering invisible.
*Oven has hot spots depending on rack location. When baking it's a trial and error situation to determine the best rack position.
*Does not broil well. It appears the broiler element does not generate sufficient heat to broil rapidly even with the rack at top position. Preheat for at least 15 minutes before beginning broil and don't block oven vents behind the two rear burners on the cook-top.

*Large cast iron cookware grates.
*Recessed accessory-drawer grab slot. Minimizes fingerprints on front of drawer.
*Large accessory drawer.
*Self-cleaning feature works very well. After about 6 months of heavy use all that was left was some ash which wiped up easily and the interior was bright and shiny again.

All in all this range is a quality product. The few cons are easily dealt with without inconvenience. We consider this model superior in quality

Loving it

The oven preheat is fast and accurate, the range top cleans easily and the grates are great. We are very pleased with our purchase and would recommend this product to others looking for a gas range.

Nothing but trouble

I have had this gas range for 14 months and the oven will not stay on. Had repair people out replaced ground wire. Worked for about a month it is now doing same thing. Oven heats to desired temp and doesn't come on. I have done research on this range seems to be a common problem. I will be calling Amana again. Buyer beware of this oven.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A blessedly basic model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't like frills, so I just wanted a functional range with a self-cleaning option. This is it. I'm thankful to not have so many bells and whistles and buttons that I can't figure out how to bake a pan of brownies. :-) There are some temperature pre-set buttons that are a nice convenience, but aside from that it's a very simple, basic, attractive, functional range. It's everything I wanted and nothing more, which is perfect!

I Love This Gas Range!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 14 years, our kitchen was due for a new gas range. I just did not expect to see all the wonderful features this gas range provided.
1) Three different size burners. Two large in front, one medium left rear and one small right rear.
2) Each burner turns on full from the start with the ignitor engaging immediately. Then further rotation diminishes the flame, rather than the old standard of rotating it from low to full in order to ignite, as in our old range.
3) The burner orifices produce a much hotter flame than our old range did when it was new.
4) The igniter spark terminals are recessed within the burners underneath the removable heat distribution shields over each burner.
5) The burner grills are made of well enameled composite granular metal to minimize slippage of cookware and distribute heat evenly to the bottom of the cookware.
6) The oven controls function electronically from the back panel rather than having a separate front knob.
7) The oven controls have convenient preset temperatures which can be adjusted on-the-fly.
8) The oven also has a timed function, if its use is desired.
9) The oven burner is on top of the oven chamber and heat is circulated by convection.
10) The oven has five rack positions for better baking choices. Our old range had only three.
11) Broiling is achieved by placing a broiler tray on the topmost or lower rack positions.which allow for larger items to be broiled.
12) A convenient cookware storage drawer at the very bottom where the old ranges had their broiler chambers.
13) Easy clean large surface area from the top of the back panel down to the front lip above the control knobs with no joints within which to trap cooking spatter.

30-inch Gas Range with Self-Clean Option

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaced a 25 year old oven/stove. It's awesome for us. Works great so far, surface and burners are nice. Oven bakes good . The oven window is bigger than what we were used too, it's nice. Pre Heat is really nice. Haven't used the self clean yet. And the best of all - Its Made In America!
