I have been a Vitamix user for four years now. It has absolutely improved my kitchen experience and quality of life. I use this blender every day! I will highly recommend it. A lot of friends ask what are the various ways I use it in my desi household, here are a few examples: *Idli/Dosa/Vada Batter - This was a major reason I bought a Vitamix. This blender can make an amazingly smooth batter, no more ready-made batter from the grocery store. *Roti/Parathe - Before kneading the dough, I parboil veggies like beet, carrot, spinach blend it, and add to the dough instead of water, a wonderful way to add more vegetables. *Makhani gravy - Without cream or nuts, because it blends at such a high speed, the gravy comes out smooth and creamy. *Pasta sauce & soups - Ditto, they come out super creamy! *Chaas - Add some mint, ginger, pepper for yummy creamy chaas. *Salsa - Blended at the lowest speed, you get the most delicious consistency in salsa. *Chutneys - It makes phenomenal nariyal chutney with daliya and coconut and all the green chutneys. You just have to make it in large quantities. *Scrambles eggs - On a busy morning, when I have a full house, I don't even try manually mixing the eggs. I just crack eggs in the jar and blend it. *Garam Masala - Yup! I blended it in the jar. *Smoothies - duh!

Pros: Programability, Versatility, Recipe Enhancement, Power
We have been recommended Vitamix by a family member, who have had their Vitamix for few years now and have always stood by its quality and efficacy. So we recently dabbled our way into the high life of super expensive blending. Our first purchase was a Explorian E310 blender and we had it for few months and it seemed to grow on us (despite the heavy price tag), but we found it limiting because of the lack of compatible accessories and the fact that any new accessory that Vitamix comes out with in future is/will be only compatible with the newer models (example: the recently released food processor accessory). Considering that this would be a long term investment and after much deliberation, we decided to shell out more $$ to upgrade to Ascent series and went ahead with A2300, as we weren't peculiar about having preset settings and touchscreen. We just received the A2300 and first thing we did was to unbox the item and plug it in to get cleaning cycle initiated but are finding out that the motor won't run, no matter what. We can see the power come up with lights turning on and changing and the self detect tech seems to work (from three dashed lines to three zeros when the container is placed on top), but when trying to run the motor it just won't work. No error codes. We have even tried the reset procedure by unplugging the machine for more than 45mins, without any success. This is pretty disappointing, given this is supposed to be top of the line product and least you'd expect it for the machine to work out of the box. What concerns me is how can something like this slip manufacturer's quality check/control or more worrying is sub-standard quality check.control. Going to get this returned...
I miss my older version. I splurged on this one & I get the E17 & E18 error code ALL the time. At least daily. Which there is no way to override, except by unplugging & plugging back in.
So if I make a smoothie with frozen bananas & blueberries, it’s often enough to give me that error code.
Very annoying. Especially because there’s no on/off button on the machine to override. Gotta unplug & plug.
My favorite part about this machine is that the food processor can be used right on it. So thats cool.
If you don’t have need for that, I recommend getting a different unit. This one is frustrating.
Pros: Speed of Service, Durability, Easy to use, Versatility
I bought my Vitamix machine almost a year ago and I would say this is the kitchen appliance worth having in your daily life! It's super easy to make different types of food. Most importantly, it saves a lot of my time in cooking!
