If you use it for silky smoothies, sauces dressings or just chop, you can do it all with this machine. I had a Vitamix for years. Then my home burned down to the ground. Total loss. Living in a camper from the insurance until my house is rebuilt. A Vitamix was one of the first few items that I bought to get back some normality and I don't have to buy 3 other machines to do the same job, which the Vitamix even does better.
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Versatility, Power
Who would have guessed you can make hot soup in a BLENDER? Delicious hot soup in only a few mins, great alternative to store bought crap filled with salt. Only had it a few days, but loving the power and ease of use.
Oh and ice to slushie in about 5 seconds.
Pros: Programability, Easy to use, Product features, Power
Works as promised, aka amazingly. The only thing I'd change is I wish I had gotten a smaller pitcher size - just for what my uses are mostly. But otherwise, this thing takes on everything and smashes them to bits. Once I figured out that you really do need to blend slightly longer than you would intuitively, everything has been aces. Best quality.
Its been less than a week but I am in love with this blender. It is so powerful and can blend pretty much everything in minutes with wonderful results.
This is the second vitamix I have invested in. My first one lasted 10+ year and still going strong. I bought the new series for the additional accessories. You will not go wrong with this product.
Pros: Speed of Service, Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Versatility, Product features, Power
The blender works well, overall. I like the simplicity of the controls and the effectiveness of the blending, etc.
The pitcher, on the other hand, is really unhelpfully designed. Pouring anything remotely thick just becomes a mess; the spout is too shallow and narrow, making it pretty ineffective for guiding the liquid into a cup/glass. The pitcher's size and shape are good, but the spout makes it messy almost every time.
Also, the fact that our older pitchers fit onto the blender but DO NOT WORK with it? That's really unnecessary. A shabby move on VM's part, esp. given how expensive the pitchers are.
We've had generally good experiences with VM in the past, but I'm not sure if we'll go with a VM blender next time.
