Fills width but not made to be flush with front

Thought this would fill the 30" microwave extra space to fit the 36" space above the range. Only fills some of it it is NOT flush with the front of the microwave. Looks odd. My old ge unit was flush and looked like one piece, this looks like a retro fit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
