SUPER tough luggage

I recently purchased this luggage for a trip overseas, primarily concerned with the durability and if it would stand up to being tossed in and out of aircraft, cars and whatever else. When we claimed our luggage after the long series of flights, I thought my luggage had done an excellent job protecting my many items. It had very few (if any) scratches and scuffs, and no visible damage. It turns out it was about to do much better than anticipated. My wife insisted upon operating the airport cart, but despite her insistence, she was not about to do a good job. My luggage, stacked with the least care, was destined to fly once more that day. Once in motion on our poorly-arranged cart, it flew forcefully but gracefully down a 3-story escalator past many interested onlookers, slamming directly into the stairs about 2/3 of the way down. As if to punctuate the event, my very abused luggage tumbled to a stop at the feet of a police officer. At this point, we joined each other in a mutual facepalm for the next (very awkward) 25 second trip down the escalator. I proceeded to check my new Cruisair for damage. It sustained more meaningful scuffs and scars on this unintended flight, more than 10,000+ miles of actual travel had thus far inflicted. Upon opening my case, I was very relieved to see that all of my belongings were in perfect condition, and my luggage structurally & functionally undamaged. Not even a single dent. Despite what can only be described as an "alleyoop super-slam" early on, the bag continued to work perfectly for the rest of our journey without so much as a single malfunction. Would buy again. 5 stars earned.

My zippered luggage got opened by airport personnel while doing transit in Mexico City using the "pen" method (use Youtube to see how easily fully closed zippered suitcase with a padlock gets opened using a simple pen). So after suffering that incident I bought this alternative which doesn't use zippers but latches, which are also TSA approved.

Cons: Unprotected wheels - non built-in wheels

We bought this suitcase because we needed something sturdy for the chaos of international travel, and it is absolutely gorgeous on the outside. Unfortunately, the interior design is terrible! The buckled flap that is meant to keep the sides separate is too small, so items from one side keep falling out into the other. Aside from that flap, there is not an additional strap to secure your belongings on one of the sides. Additionally, there are no zippered compartments in the suitcase, which was a disappointment. This is the type of suitcase that requires the use of luggage cubes/storage bags, which was really more of a hassle than wee had bargained for. We will be returning this product, and what is even more disappointing is that we will be paying an exorbitant return shipping fee. I really wanted and expected more from Samsonite.

Beautiful but has a problem with latching

I loved this product until I wasn't able to latch it for almost 30mins. The capacity is small - I bought the 26" luggage - HUGE mistake if you are going away for more than one week. The interior design needs some adjustments and make it easy to latch. I did not over stuff this bag. Another thing, it does scratch easily. Overall, not for long trips especially if you are a woman.
