Love the versatility of the Bosch Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We upgraded our Kitchen after 20 years and were a little overwhelmed by the techology and options now offered in appliances. Fortuneatly the Bosch products were easy to learn how to operate. I addition to the basic microwave functions we love the convection oven option. We now use this feature as frequently as the microwave functions.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We replaced oue old built in microwave and the old vent fan with the Bosch Benchmark. The fan is MUCH quieter than the old fan and the microwave also serves as a convection oven allowing us to baks two potatoes without turnibg on the big oven. We now have a kitchen that gives us more space and is better looking and serves us better than what we had before

So dissapointed for the money!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this microwave because with the Bosch name we expected an above average product. I was verry dissapointed with the simple features that it doesn't have. 1. The buzzer is very quiet and there apparently is no way to adjust the volume. There is no way to halt the cooking, check the food and continue cooking without trusting the interlock to stop the microwave energy. A STOP button would have been a better option. 2. My previous microwave had the option of reducing or increasing the cooking time in 10 seconds. I used this option frequently and expected an oven with the Bosch name to have a similar feature. 3. It is nice that there are many built in programs, but it is not worth the time to get out the book to learn how to key in these programs whenever I want to use one. As a result I just do it my own way. 4. The program to soften ice cream is worthless and the program to defrost frozen food isn't much better. The stainless interior is very easy to clean and the oven has plenty of power. Would buy this microwave again? Absolutely NOT.

Lacking Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a 10 year old Over the Range Convection/Microwave with the Bosch HMVP053U Convection/Microwave. The Bosch is lacking several features that the 10 year old Convection/Microwave Model had. None of the buttons on the control panel have any back lighting to see them when you push them. you must turn on overhead lights to see which buttons to push. When in the convection mode, you can set the oven temperature but you cannot set a cooking time for the convection oven. The cooking process does not end and must be watched to not overcook what is placed in the oven. I considered the Bosch Brand to be a much higher level appliance than my previous model but was disappointed that the features were less than my 10 year old lower reputation appliance.

Exterior was dimpled

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this so I had the convenience of a convection oven as well. The temperature never reached the set temp. Waiting for new sensor to be installed and hoping this resolves problem. Also after installed, noticed the exterior "stainless" pieces had dimpling in the top, bottom and side pieces. Two have been replaced but one of them still has a large dimple. Microwave feature works fine and as expected.

Blew out and not even 4 years old

Unit began tripping the circuit breaker. A few days ago, it totally blew. An electrician found the end of plug is actually burnt. The outlet is fine after testing with another item. Oven option never did get to a temp to actually cook anything. This has been a total disappointment and from other poor reviews with similar issues, this product is a waste of your money.

Takes too long to warm up as a convection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this to eliminate a free standing toaster. The convection does not work well at all - the toaster is here to stay unfortunately. Takes extremely long to warm up and to cook / bake. Looks good, matches the slide in range but do not waste you money on the convection. The microwave segment is OK

Bad Customer Service Experience

I have remodelled my kitchen and replaced all working GE appliances to Bosch. For the most part, it is working fine except for over the counter microwave. It broke down three times just after the warranty period. The third time, I decided to buy a new one instead of spending money on fixing. It started breaking even during the warranty period and continued after the warranty period. So in September 2020, I called customer service and asked them to replace the unit. On November 12, 2020, I was told that the management had approved the exchange. After my continuous follow-up, they finally got it installed on 2/1/2021. For almost five months, we didn't have a microwave, no lights on the cooking range, and no exhaust. I don't think this company is interested in the home appliances business. For the entire bay area, they only have one technician.
