High Quality Gaming Monitor

I purchased this monitor after playing the panel lottery for 6 months with various ASUS and ACER Gaming Panels (PG279Q and XB271HU/XB270HU). After using this Samsung CFG70 Panel for 3 Months I wanted to Share my feedback.
Comparing the Samsung 24" CFG70 to these panels, with the Samsung I found the panel quality to be far superior than that of the competitors. The Samsung Panel had no backlight bleed or dead pixels on the first monitor, where as after 5 PG279Qs and 2 XB271HU, I was still unable to find another gaming panel that was free of such defects.
The Contrast Ratio on the Samsung Panel Is Also Far Superior to its competitor gaming panels, bringing dark scenes to life, which I have noticed especially in titles of the Mass Effect and Tomb Raider series. For that reason, I appreciate the use of a VA Panel in this monitor. The Monitor Is Also Bright and The Colors Are Exceptionally Vibrant.
Being that I use Nvidia Graphics Cards, I have not been able to take advatage of the free sync feature of this monitor, but I have not noticed any screen tearing either. The responsiveness of this monitor is equivalent if not better than the gaming monitors I compared it with. There is a very slight purple hue visible over Grey Scenes when panning rapidly in-game, however it is rarely noticeable, not distracting, and probably also present on other monitors using overdrive for their G2Gs. This purple hue is not present in scenes which are not overtly grey.
Contrary to other reviewers, I found the monitor stand to be both innovative and user-friendly. Both the monitor cabinet and the stand seem to be well built, although the base is quite large relative to the panel. I also like that the I/O and ports come straight off the back for easier cable management, particularily with the stand clip to help manage and hide cables. The Monitor's Built-In Menu is also easy to use and offers some useful settings for adjusting black level and Overdrive to your preference.
I would like to see more Gaming Panels from Samsung, particularily in 2560x1440 and especially 4k resolutions. This monitor was quite expensive for a 1080p Panel but well worth it in my opinion, especially with the included game bundle. Also, please release the CF791 or a follow-up model in a Black Variant. I will be purchasing my future gaming panels from Samsung as their quality is thus far un-matched from my experience with other gaming monitor brands.

GOOD WHILST IT LASTED breaks after 2 years

excelent monitor whilst it lasted. Great colours, viewing angles and frame rate. There are some issues with ghosting on the blurbusters UFO test, however this has never been a problem whilst gaming.
HOWEVER, after 2 years the image would be heavily corrupted and only the top 1 cm would be visiable at power on. This would clear after 5 mins, however got worse to the point that it was permonant when running the display at 144Hz and would run fine at 120Hz. Now 6 months later 120Hz is experiancing the same issue, lasing for incrasingly longer time (20mins before clearing) and i cant use the monitor at the advertised frame rate.
GOOD FOR 2 YEARS, NOW CANT BE RUN AT 144Hz
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great monitor

I've had this monitor for a month now and love it. Great picture, bright and sharp.
Viewing angles are nice. Menu is easy to navigate and the joystick style button is nice.
Stand is pretty decent, though if your desk is up against a wall you may have issues with the angled stand, but nothing that effects the overall quality of the product.

I would have given this 5 stars but in the last week the monitor has developed a raster line
across the top about 1/2 inch below frame. As i am recovering from back surgery i'm unable to exchange this for a new one.

I am very bummed that the line started as i love this monitor but understand this cant be foreseen, I just hope this is the only line that develops.

i had this c24fg70 a couple of years now, will not buy a samsung again, now its a lot of green and purple lines on it and it turns green, if i disconnect displaycable or powerkable about 10 times i can get it to work.
it maby need a firmware update but its not a usb connection so i cant do it myself

after one month of owning these monitors all three started to have the purple bar issue if set to 144hz. then after setting them to 120hz after a few more months they started doing it on that setting on startup for around 5 minutes each. do not buy

I just received this monitor I have to say it is the best computer monitor I have ever owned. The 1ms response time and 144mhz refresh rate is amazing. Coming from a 24 inch TN panel at 60mhz I can not truly describe how incredible this difference is.(Note that you must use the display port to achieve anything above 60mhz --- The DP cable is included :) ).
The Quantom Dot technology delivers colors that are super vibrant and pop off of the screen. Screen tearing is a thing of the past with this 144mhz 1ms beauty. The colors are incredibly accurate and very rich. The contrast ratio of 3000:1 is a thing of beauty. The dark colors are outstanding with no back light bleeding, even the IPS panels are no match.
The on screen display is very intuitive and well designed. The ability to save 3 profiles
for games or movies and everyday computing is a nice touch coupled with the built in gaming
profiles. The curved monitor is great, it really draws you in as well as saving desk space.

Set up was very simple and the stand is very sturdy and very flexible in allowing you to easily raise and lower, swivel as well as rotate. It comes with an extra bracket if you want to attach it onto a wall mount.
In conclusion this is hands down the best monitor you can buy. The Quantom Dot technology
is absolutely unreal and a must have. Well done Samsung.

I got 2 of these monitors about a year ago and they both get a weird red color tint (glitched out look) when playing some games. They also both have weird lines when you first turn on your computer. don't waste your money on these, they don't las.
