Poor quality and frequent service visits

I have the 800 Series at home and am frustrated to say the least. It has failed now twice-the display went out the first time but luckily a home warranty (NOT the short lived Bosch warranty) covered it for around $400. Now, 9 months later, there was some electric burning smell and it now fails once again to turn on. Very dissappointed. The child lock is a nice touch though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Expensive piece of non-functioning furniture

Started having issues just out of warranty and after only 2 years of ownership, it's had 8 repair visits, over $500 in repairs, and still not functioning. Now the repairman wants another $450 to repair. Unfortunate and will not buy from Bosch again.

Disappointing Bosch prodict

This is a review of the model that preceded this model. I purchased HMC87151UC in December 2016. It looked beautiful and fit in nicely with my renovation of my kitchen. After one year, the display became very dim. I had that repaired. After another year, in 2018, the microwave function stopped working. That repair was effective for another year, and then the microwave stopped working again. I had it repaired again. Then, 3 months later, the microwave stopped working again. This has been a very disappointing experience with a product, that, because it is a Bosch product, just did not perform up to the brand reputation. I don't believe that there was sufficient quality control in the manufacture of this model. I feel very let down.

My first convection oven.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always wanted a convection/microwave and now I have one. I hadn't thought about splatters from the microwave getting burnt on the interior when the convection baking is on. It is something I now am aware of. I put my microwave over the oven and with the door hinging on the bottom, I have problems getting in and our of this appliance. My husband is taller than I so it's not a problem for him. It's great for his 3 biscuits in the mornings.

Short Life Expectancy for an Expensive Product

We purchased the microwave 11/2018 and it died 6/2020 - only 1 year and 7 months later! Really?????
During its brief lifespan, the microwave worked very well, but there is room for some definite design improvements. The door opens top to bottom and the microwave is very deep. It was extremely awkward to clean and at times to use. The panel light was barely visible and the alert tones way too subtle. My Bosche oven opens from the side - an amazingly convenient option and the panel light is much brighter (the alert tones are still too subtle though).

Beautiful and Efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the oven and the microwave and together you can't have a better kitchen for cooking gourmet meals that will make you a star even with leftovers. The ovens are quiet and the food comes out golden brown, evenly cooked and faster than any oven I have ever had. I can't say enough about how extremely pleased I am with my choice. The beauty of the stainless steel enhances the look of my kitchen as well. Easy to clean and keep shiny!

Nice Looking, Quiet, Solid, Works

We like our speed oven. It looks great, has a solid feel to it, and gets the job done in all operating modes. The user manual is easy to follow. However...
Problem #1 -- This appliance has a VERY WEAK alert sound even when MAX volume has been selected. This makes the Speed Oven’s time functions useless and requires a separate kitchen timer. Less expensive microwaves have pleasant, loud alerts and will even sound a delay reminder if food is left too long in the microwave after completion of a heat cycle. Bosch does not offer this feature.
Problem #2 -- The installation manual could be improved by illustrating the attached outlet plug and offering an example of what an appropriate 20-amp receptacle should look like that will accept Bosch's VERY UNUSUAL plug. I completely understand why Bosh supplied their unique 20-amp plug but I for one have never seen a plug like that even though, as it turned out, my receptacle accept such a unique plug.
Problem #3 – Bosch does NOT offer a 27” matching drawer. They only offer a warming oven. This forces customers to either upscale to a warming oven they don’t need or put up with mismatched cabinets. Since I needed to fit the speed oven into an existing 27" opening, I did not have the flexibility to simply specify a 30" cabinet on a new installation.

Brokedown 2x in 5 months...so far

Nice lookig but broke down 2xs already. Had the repair guy here 2x for the first breakdown and he had to replace most of the internial parts. Then a couple of months go by and it stops working again.
