Broken piece already is disappointing

The concept is good and my son has enjoyed it since receiving it from his grandparents on Christmas but one month later and a major piece is already broken. He built the cowboy and it fell off of the workbench cracking one of the two green legs... which means that he can't build anything else in the booklet. So, overall, I can't say that I would recommend this bench to others because my son didn't do anything too rough and yet it broke.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Screws come apart easily, making builds near impossible

My son loved this toy when he first received it, and still does, but we've had to attempt to piece together the screws multiple times. The threading comes off the head of the screw really easily, and we've tried super glue and got glue to no avail. Only two are left :-/.

Tool bench is great...building supplies don't work

We love the tool bench and tools but the building kit that comes along with it does not work. The screws strip very easily and the nuts and blocks they screw into do not catch the threads at all. I would say probably only 50% of the screws, nuts, and blocks have ever actually stayed together.

The pieces become stripped within a few uses. Bought this for Christmas it's now May and the inside pieces are completely stripped and unable to stay together.

Vice was stuck coming out of the box.

Melissa and Doug put out great products and we always check with them first before getting toys. We only buy toys that we believe will make it through our children and still be around for their children. I don't want it to sound like we are bashing this workbench because it is awesome and the kids love it. It's just that they would love it even more if the vice was a functioning vice. It looks like it might have been crossthreaded so it wouldn't go in or out and eventually the handle broke from them trying to make it work. Things happen, no big deal. In all fairness I have not contacted the company yet and I'm sure they will make it right. One lesson I did learn? Why not wait until February to put it together, that way they get Christmas like excitement twice! haha BTW we forgot about it being in the back of our Suburban coming back from Grandma's. It was a breeze to put together if you just take your time and follow directions.
Pros: Easy Assembly, Entertaining, Fun, Interactive, Realistic
Cons: Broke Vice Disappoints

The wooden models are too fragil

Whilst this has been a great success, as per a previous review we too have found all the blocks and screws have stuck together and have broken several trying to sort out the threads. We can no longer make any models and it doesn't look like you can buy replacement parts.

Wooden Project Workbench

The workbench has been a wonderful addition to our 4 year olds playthings. However, three of the small round hubs have been misplaced. Which makes building the models in the booklet impossible. I would purchase an additional construction kit if one contained the small hubs.

We were so excited to receive this, but it quickly became a source of frustration. It's too hard for an adult to get the pieces apart, much less a child! Half of the pieces don't fit like they are supposed to.
