Couldn't resist it-- as lifelong Steiff fan. Conversation piece for my daughter-in-law's foyer. She loved it. Most were surprised I'd spend that much, but I'm know a value when I see it. I might consider the lion or tiger in the future.

I am a Senior and an animal lover. The giraffe is my favorite animal. My daughter and I are going to Kenya, Africa next AUG for a photo Safari. We will be so pleased to see giraffe's and other big game in their natural habitat. I bought George (the unofficial name @ MelissaAndDoug) who is 4' 5" tall and I place him in various rooms in my house, and usually where I am at the moment. He usually looks out the windows. When I come into a room and I see my George a big smile comes on my face. George is famous, he has been on TV shows and movies. The most recent movie, which George has been in is "The Big Sick." He was on the Jimmy Kimmel show live, Tori Spelling.jpg, Heidi Klum.jpg, Martha Stewarts Living magazine, and the list goes on. George is an excellent choice for a child's nursery. He has beautiful eyes with long eyelashes and his eyes follow you around the room. He's so lovable. I LOVE MY GEORGE!

I bought the giraffe for my great niece for the holidays when she was two years old. It quickly became a member of the family (they sent me pictures of "Raffe" wearing ski goggles and a fur cap to protect him from the New England winter), and it must make an appearance at the dinner table where my niece (now 3) "feeds" him while she eats, and her mother then washes Raffe up after his meal. Raffe has a place of honor in the playroom where everyone admires him. This was my first Melissa and Doug purchase (I have no children of my own), but it will be far from my last. (I'm buying everything I wanted but never received as a little girl for my great niece: Can you tell?)

Again, Wow! I have Recently bought the Girrafe for my Oldest daughter, Lilian. Shes 8 and obsseses over how beautiful girraes are! This animals Kinda hard to wash, because of its size, you cant put it in the washing machine, but you can take a rag with hot water and wipe it down, the leave it in the backyard to air dry. I love it, so does my youngest daughter, (age 5) You gotta buy it!

I've seen M&D giraffes here and there for some time now. I always knew that when I got pregnant, one would find it's way into the nursery. Sure enough, my prediction came true thanks to my wonderful twin who made sure I'd be the happiest mommy-to-be at my shower! I've had a few people compliment us on our nursery and the theme but EVERYONE comments on the giraffe. It is beautiful and adds a wonderful charm to the little room. I highly recommend!
