Great look, poor Quality

I purchased this unit for my new kitchen. The oven did not work. It was returned and replaced by the new model that was fingerprint resistant. I used it for two months and the insulation smoldered and smoked while I was using it at a high temperature. I will be returning this range as well and replace it by another manufacturer's model. The look is so great. We received many compliments on it, but the Quality of its operation is very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this model about 4 months ago after my 30 year old stove finally gave up the ghost. I needed and wanted a gas stove and I looked first to Maytag. I recently also had to replace my 30 year old refrigerator and went with a Maytag. Now my stove and refrig designs match! And they both have really clean lines with the wonderful fingerprint resistant stainless surface.
The new stove is terrific. I had to adjust to the more powerful burners and on occasion have had to move a pot to the smallest burner (left rear). But, not a problem. I recently used the center oval burner with the grill accessory I bought and it worked just fine. I've used the oven for baking chicken and roasting vegetables, oven temp was spot on. I haven't used the convention function yet or the warming drawer.
So far, everything has been easy to clean. The cast iron grates are on the heavier side, but are easy to remove for access to the under surface which gets splattered.
I honestly couldn't be happier with my purchase. Thank you Maytag for producing quality products. (I also own a Maytag washer and dryer going on 30 years! I think I've got a year or two left in them.)

The good and the bad

Ive had a few months use of this stove. It cleans up well. Seems well constructed. Oven heats up fast. The spacing on grates are wide and pans can tip a little. Seems dangerous for households with children. The burners are all very hot with no ability to simmer even on low.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice stove. The only criticism I have is the burners are too hot. There is only one burner that will maintain a slow simmer. All the other burners boil things even when turned to the lowest setting.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice oven but it doesnt always light

Thing looks nice but half the time the oven goes out and you hear it trying to ignite and it doesnt. You come back to what you thought would be cooked and its not. Oven less than 4 months old

Attractive and functional

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love my new range and all of the cooking functions operate perfectly. The only thing I would suggest is that a hood vent should be used with it. I have an over-the-range microwave above it and the fan doesn't do a good job, plus the underside of the microwave gets extremely hot with more than one burner in operation at the same time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We initially selected Maytag appliances because Whirlpool, the parent company, has extensive operations in the USA, including design and assembly of this range. We are more than impressed with how it works! Looks great too! Only complaint is that the clock is a little hard to see unless standing over the range, we really appreciate that the controls face upward and are out of reach of out two year old. Fingerprint resistant finish works really well too. Would recommend and appreciate that Whirlpool/Maytag keeps Americans working!
