For our grandson, we chose to purchase the wooden play food for durability. He loves them, but the OJ label was painted on upside down. I had ordered straight from MelissaandDoug.com so I didn't think it would be an issue getting a replacement, but the CR rep couldn't seem to find that particular set of food, so the replacement was something completely different. I couldn't quite understand that, since I'd ordered straight from the manufacturer, not a third party vendor, but at least we got some sort of replacement.

Some parts smelled bad & tossed after a week of airing out

Thought Melissa and Doug were the gold standard, but not after having this order smell like burnt wood and chemicals. Tried airing it out, bagged with a dryer sheet, but it's in the wood. No real quality control on these.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
