I bought this for my husband and he loves it. Worth every penny! There is only one thing I was not happy with and that was the base. We used it once on the plastic cracked in half. We had to superglue it back together and then purchase another base. For the price of the machine I should not have had to buy more parts to fix it.

We’ve had a month or so and have been very pleased. While the extra accessories are nice we do not find ourselves using much other than the standard pitcher, though we have one occassion and they add to the deal. We went in the pretty modest expectations, but have no regrets and have recommended to the friends who’ve experienced and asked about. We tend to go the lazy route and use the mixers, but they have been great - the gradation and texture of the ice being the key. It takes a bit of practice to get the proportions just right but a real first world problem there. Once figured out it is quite easy. We definitely appreciate the larger ice reservoir over something smaller, if comparing.
I rated a 4 because it is not perfect, but rightfully it is probably between 4 and 5. Our only complaint to date is my wife struggles to unscrew the ring with the blade on it, and I would agree it is a bit on the snug side and the lock button that holds it in place is very average, bordering on insufficient, especially if hands are even the slightest bit wet - and you are washing typically at that point so of course that is the case.

I've had mine for probably 3/4 years. Once margarita-season hits Arkansas we generally run one to two pitchers every weekend - so at least 16 times a season and, say three years, so 48 batches PLUS the kids were using it - so I'll throw in another 20 for kids slush drinks - 68 batches with NO repairs or issues. Still runs strong. HOWEVER - and this is the only problem - even though the upper funnel JUST drops shaved ice into the pitcher - sometimes when the blender starts it throws some drink UP into it - enough to make it sticky and eventually - kind of nasty - maybe even MOLD! SO clean, meaning hold machine upside down and lightly spray out that area- the bleach/water 30/70 solution then rinse would work. But FORGET about taking the beastie apart. Unless you get the spanner bits from Amazon, because you'll need them and a long thin small phillips head. I am going to take it apart (as I do everything eventually - except my wife and kids - because I love to tinker with things) and if it fails to work again it will go to the PARTS shelf in my shop and I'll buy another one (probably the same one LOL!). But I want to see what's NOT clean in it. I've also 'repaired' several dryers, washers, dishwashers, multiple vacuum cleaners and all kinds of old audio equipment. It's what I do. But that top plastic part needs to come off to clean - and now I've noticed what appears to be black slime in the water discharge of the rear 'water reservoir' - so there's stuff inside this that needs to be cleaned out. I'll let you know how it goes with photos later! Maybe even a youtube!

We're delighted to hear you and your family are getting lots of use from the Key West. We'll gladly provide you with the disassembling instructions without using a screwdriver so that you can get to the areas to clean. The user manual like is below and while it is for the original Key West, all following models are designed identically with cosmetic differences. Pages E9 and E10 in the manual show you step by step how to take the ice reservoir and all components off so that you can get to the ice chute. To put it back together, you would reverse the steps and you can refer to the parts list on page E3. Note that we do not recommend using any solvent or chemical to clean the parts. Warm water and a cloth should do the job. With these easier instructions than using a screwdriver, you will be back blending up your Margaritas in no time. It's 5 o'clock somehwere!
