BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK

I don't know if I got a lemon or it's suppose to shut down and then gets hot again. I have cooked with an electric skillet for over 36 years and have never had one that just shuts down and starts back up. I will never order one thru the internet again. I can not send it back because I can't justify paying the shipping and handling cost and end up with the same problem. I really do not think that is a very good guarantee as much as shipping and handling would cost. Live and learn and I have learned not to buy anything OSTER

poorly made

We purchased this skillet about one 10 months ago. Went to use it one morning only to find that it was not working. Upon examination we found that the heating coil under the pan had split open.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this skillet and I love it! I use it all of the time.It is easy to clean and makes dinner a breeze!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointment

My husband bought me an Oster Kitchen over 30 years ago and I was extremely happy with it so I was ecstatic when I found and Oster Electric (12x16) skillet. After just a few uses the non-stick coating started bubbling up and is now beginning to peel. Of course I didn't save the receipt, so I am stuck with having to replace it with only a few short months of use. You can bet the next one will not be an Oster!!

Nothing wrong with the pan itself...

I love this little skillet, but the cord is INSANELY short. It's ridiculous. There is NO way someone who actually uses a skillet would agree to and say Oh Yes, a short cord makes all kinds of sense! It's just dumb. I wouldn't recommend it nor buy it again simply because of the dumb short cord.

Cleans up easily, browns foods nicely

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this about a year ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it with the exception of it not being immersible as was the one I replaced. The Duraceramic coating does cook/brown differently from other non-stick coatings and that takes a bit of getting used to.
Cleaning it is easy, but I do wish I could immerse it. Overall a great purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Don't Buy for Any Reason

I hate this frying pan. I always thought Oster products were top quality. This frying pan either burns everythign or doesn't cook it enough. I have tried everything. I am going to junk it. I don't even want to give it away for fear of what could happens
