Sad farewell, joyful reunion

Well, I have had and heavily used the 12-speed Oster blender for years--same look, classy brushed nickel. Well, today, I over burdened my favorite kitchen utensil making a rather thick pesto--had the pitcher practically full...the started smelling something other than the aromatic delight of basil, garlic and olive oil being blended--yes, it was the motor smoking from being bogged down. When my old buddy burned out and gave up the ghost, I was totally bummed to bid a sad farewell. I mean, I use this all the time, my go to appliance. On a whim, I Googled Oster, and lo and behold, they still make the exact blender, same retro look, same Oster dependability, and I can even interchange the old accessories if necessary down the road. Not to mention there just happened to be a 30% discount and so I got it at an amazing price. You can't beat Oster--sheik metal base, glass pitcher, blender blades you could shave with (watch your fingers when cleaning), oh and did I mention 30% discount! So, while I bid a sad farewell to my old friend, I await a joyous reunion with it's exact twin! (I just ordered the replacement) I'm much relieved and only hope the new one is up to the same Oster standards as the old one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I married 2 years ago and I received these blender as a present from my sister. All my live I grew with Oster brand in my mom's Kitchen . Unfortunately I am not so good cooker so in one year I used only 2 times for made smothies and for the third time some piece in the motor broke was really sad . Now I will give maybe other opportunity to Oster by I am trying to buy the heritage blender that is what my mom used all her life.

Not worth it!!!

Not even one week old. The motor sounds like a feight train is coming through the neighborhood. My old Oster blender, 12 years old, was quieter than this brand new one!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very low budget!!!

I bought this a month ago to replace an older one I had really enjoyed for years. This new one vibrates all over the counter and the glass blender has almost spun off from the base. Must watch very carefully and would not trust turning my head away from it. Very dissapointed.

This blender is supposed to be brushed nickel, as the description specifies. It is actually a shiny polished metal. It does not match my existing appliances. I sent it back and am still waiting for a refund. I lost money on this purchase because I had to pay shipping twice.

DON'T BUY!

I bought a different blrnder from Oster, it broke after a few satisfied uses. I blended at most dence frozen fruit keep in mind, but after a few uses it stopped working. I tried using a different outlet and it still didn't work. We took it back ti the store for a replacement, and we bought this one, this one after one use did the same thing as the first, unresponsive. Very dissapointed!
