The Wall oven advantage

We bought this unit 09/24/2013 and it got installed 09/25/2013. My spouse loves the advance touchscreen features, the cooking probe will very welcome for the Thanksgiving.
The improved self cleaning feature is welcome break for my spouse who likes cleaning stuff.

Good but expensive

I do like the oven, but the price is not warranted. I also, my fault, did not think through that it is quite a pain to switch from oven to micro (changing trays, etc) so you need to ensure that, if this is your only microwave oven,,, you plan around it.
The other poor aspect in my opinion is the lack of touch screen or even manual buttons to change direction (temp/time, etc) everything is turndial which is antiquated and I'm sure it will break!

Several options

This came in a new home we purchased and just getting used to it. I like the option of using as a microwave or convection oven. When using the oven it does not heat up the house as the main oven does however it does take a lot longer for items to cook. It's half the watts of a regular convection over so basically twice as long to cook. I did discuss with a GE tech who stated its best to cook some of the recipes in the cookbook provided and that will assist in getting to know to oven side and make it easier to modify other recipes. A learning curve for sure. I love GE appliances, had a GE double over range that was fantastic.

Underpowered

Pretty disappointed. Underpowered compared to my old microwave. Downward swinging door not as convenient when mounted above regular oven as it sits kind of high. Clock doesn't stay lit (according to GE this is due to some energy savings regulation--really? A microwave LED clock uses too much energy? How come the oven clock still stays lit?). They try to pack so many options into the controls that you have to go through too many steps to do the simplest things. It won't even let you set the time for less than 30 seconds.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Too complex for me

This microwave came with my new home. It has more functionality than I will ever use. Because of this, the microwave controls are more complex and confusing. Since I only use it to microwave - I find that I pretty much always just use the express button (30 seconds on high). Whenever I need long times or reduced power level, I need to use the knob - and I never do it correctly.

Highly Versatile

Honestly, this oven takes a small learning curve, but well work the price. We've never used a system like this before, and so needed to learn of the features work. But we're really beginning to love the versatility.
