Not As Good As I Wanted

I will start by saying the oven looks lovely in my newly constructed kitchen. It was purchased to save space for a smaller kitchen. The inside is large and it is installed at counter height. I am on the petite side and my arm will barely reach the back of the oven to wipe it clean.
While there are nice features like the express cook, there are other features I miss that you get with a standard microwave. Since I have not been using the product for too long, perhaps there are ways to accomplish what I want that have not been discovered and not in the instructions that came in the box.
The microwave does not have a way to reheat at a selected temp and time. Unable to reheat something at 70% power for 1.5 minutes. The preheated selection of reheating a "plate of food" always over heats the food. That being said, I recently was successful at heating a cup of thick pea soup using this feature (heat 1 cup of soup) to the right temperature. A nice feature is due to the size, you can put a 9" X 13" pan in and it will successfully turn. Slightly bigger than that and it hits the sides and not rotate for even cooking.
Regarding the oven and the tray you use for that, I tend to have a harder time getting it in place on the rotating wheels. First I heated the oven without the tray in and tried to add it with the items on it and it took so long to get it in place that the oven cooled down; and then I wasn't successful at getting it in place after all. The next time, I preheated the oven with the tray in it, added the items onto the tray, which took time and the oven cooled down, and I knocked the tray off of the rollers. This took more time to get the tray on correctly and the oven continued to cool. To date, I have not been successful at cooking a 9" x 13" pan of food completely even when adding more time to the clock. They have all come out uncooked in the center. A defect to my oven is that the control knob when trying to select temperature and time will bounce around and not work as one would expect. When turning the knob one way to select say 375 degrees and you go too high at 400 degrees, turning the knob the opposite way to decrease the temp does not work. My experience every time will have the temp/time bounce around and go higher and lower (410, 400, 390, 405, etc.) and it becomes a game to get it in the right place. Same thing happens when trying to select the time to cook an item. A service appointment has been made to look at this issue. A big irritant is that after the oven cooking time is done, it says to check the food, and after opening the door to check doneness, it will not give the option to add more time, instead it starts cooling the oven. It would be very much appreciated to learn how to eliminate this issue.
At this time, I am not that thrilled with the unit. That being said, when I bought the item, it had better ratings than others of the same type, so I opted on this GE microwave/oven. I really like the concept of the combined microwave/oven and think the technology needs to continue to improve before I can recommend this item. One more thing, I wish the clock would continuously stay lit, not just when you open the door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The clock is designed to turn off when the unit is idle for 30 seconds to minimize standby power usage. The clock will turn on when the unit is in use, or the door is opened. There is no override option available based on the DOE energy requirements. However, we value your feedback.
Reheated foods may have wide temperature variations. Some areas may be extremely hot. It is best to use "COOK BY TIME" and not "REHEAT" for bread products, foods that must be reheated uncovered, foods that need to be stirred or turned, or foods calling for a dry look/crisp surface after reheating. Proper containers and covers are essential for best sensor cooking.

Easy to use

We purchased this oven to replace a microwave (from another company Bxxxx) which had failed completely - no power. This oven is easy to use. We've only used the microwave features, but plan on using more of the speed oven features.

Nice improvement from an older and smaller built-in microwave oven which died after 25 years of service. This one has a larger turntable, many more features, still uses the same space in my kitchen cabinet and looks nicer.
