When I saw this stuffed animal at a pet store 11 years ago, I brought it to the cash register. Turns out it wasn't for sale; to my disappointment, it was only on display to draw attention to a charity. Several months later, to my greatest surprise, I was unwrapping a birthday gift and-- lo and behold, it was the same dog that I had not been allowed to buy in the pet store. The person who was with me in the pet store went back the next day and made a generous donation to the charity. M & D's dog, although exact in all other ways, unfortunately has an unlovable face. Its ears are too small and do not flop properly; instead, they stick out. Moreover, the dog appears somewhat angry.

Cute, sturdy, dog. I really don't like that it was made in China. I ordered 4 other large M&D stuffed animals this year and the quality control was lacking. Poorly sewn seams on a horse. One ear half the size of other (same horse). A black lab that had no neck and its nose glued on facing the sky. Looked more like a black angus. Then I think about the horrible waste of making these things and shipping them around the globe...can't we just make them here? Anyhow, this dog, the Dalmatian, and the donkey were the best of the M&D animals we ordered. I was not impressed by the horse or black labrador.

"Jack" is the perfect companion for our (adult male) friend who is undergoing some very difficult medical procedures. According to our friend's wife, Jack is a huge morale boost and adds a little levity to an otherwise very serious situation. He's an excellent confidant, well trained and doesn't require anything for himself. He's also a good excuse to get a little fresh air and exercise, after all you have to walk the dog! He's a good traveler and doesn't get car sick. Thank you, Jack. You're a good dog.
