Rugged and long lasting

I purchased this classic 4 burner gas grill April 7, 2013. It can cook a little, or a lot. One burner to all four (48,000 Btu's). Cooking surface can hold 32 burgers and there is a warming grid too. The 4 stainless steel burners are still under warranty (5 years).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lasted less thayear even though had parts replaced

The bottom of the grill, below the burners was completely rusted after only one year

Great Everyday Grill

We cookout every couple of days and this is just the right size and great performance. There is only three of us, so it’s perfect for my wife, son, and me. We usually cook the protein and vegetables all in one shot!

I bought April 2018 cooks food fast and efficient seams to cook very even heat and I'm very happy with purchase! Grill feels solid.

Four burners, perfect control

My Classic four burner is older than this model shown. Yes, parts are available to keep your grill going for years.
I love the heat control the four burner give you for all kinks of grilling. I even baked cookies on th grill!

Good, but missing standard elements

The grill itself is fine. It took maybe an hour to put together, so no complaints there. However, my negative issue is with the design of the grill. Moving it is difficult. DON'T use the shelves to tilt the grill up - the shelf almost snapped off when I did this, and now is a bit loose. There's nowhere to easily grip the grill in order to roll it. To me, that's bad design.
The second issue is that there are no hooks to hang grilling tools, including a cleaning brush! It seems like this should be a no-brainer, if the company is really keeping the customer's experience top-of-mind.
Our last Char-Broil, purchased around 18 years ago, was easy to move and had hooks molded into the shelves. It didn't even occur to me to consider those to things before purchasing. Frankly, I'm surprised that Char-Broil would overlook such basic elements.
There are too many other grills and grill companies out there at the same price point. If a friend asked me, I would tell her to look at other options instead of this model.

We're sorry to hear of the frustrations with this grill. Whenever moving the grill we recommend pushing it at one side instead of dragging it. We do have other grills available with hooks. However, this grill does not have tool hooks on the side shelves. Give us a call at 1-800-241-7548 and we will be able to provide more information.

4 burner classic

I like how it cooks and was easy to get to know how hot it got, I installed a temp gauge but the main problem is the heat plates that go over the burner, the v shaped protrusion to support them are not sticking out enough to hold the plates up so they fall down when the wind blows and it will burn the burners out soon. Is there any modification that has been made to help support the heat plates?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
