I grill pretty regularly... Couple times a week. Still figuring out heat/timing on a new grill which is expected. I like the even heat a lot! Big plus! A little extra cleaning to make sure performance is optimal is a bit of a drawback... But overall the grill performs well, wish I'd already owned it for a year to give a hard review. I can say, my previous grill was a charbroil, and I rode it into the ground! It took ten years before it gave out...that's why I stayed in the charbroil family again!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Rust Never Sleeps!

I can't be more disappointed in this grill. I have owned this grill for 3 years, and have used 3 sets of grates and infrared emitters due to rust. I just took off the cover to the grill this year, and wouldn't you know....covered with rust. I keep my grill grates well oiled when using the grill, and keep a cover on it year round. I never had this problem with my old Weber grill I had for many years. The infrared cooking system works grate. It's a shame it's wasted on such poor quality parts.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am a frequent griller (60 times a year) and have had many grills. Most grills have problems with flair ups and massive accumulation of grease so I generally add grill rock which only partially solves the problem. The Infrared thing is a game changer! Almost no flair ups and they are small and short. Consistent heat and very controllable heat. Most grills, you can't use the area by the edge of the grill; this grill has heat all the way to the side, back, front. The 4 burner has more usable area than my previous 5 burner (it is the same depth and 2 inches narrower, but I can use all the surface). This grill is way more energy efficient. I probably use half as much gas as my previous grill. Also, I grill all year and previous grills with large air holes had a hard time heating up in Winter. I think this grill will do much better since it only has small holes and I can't run it at full heat in the Spring so far. My previous grills will be on high this time of year just to get warm enough to work.
The manufacturing engineering on this grill is the best yet. Many grills are hard to assemble due to poor alighment of holes, etc. Also, many have miss aligned doors and large spacing. This grill has closely spaced and perfectly aligned doors, sturdy wheels, rigid structure, etc. Before I bought this grill, i noticed many complaints about the grates rusting. I haven't had it long enough to experience this, but I think they might have solved it. Before I bought it, I noticed that they had a part number change and also, at Menards they had the older version of this grill on closeout. The grates were the same part (size, shape, etc.) but the newer version had a shinier ceramic coating so I am assuming there was an engineering change and hopefully they solved the problem. TIime will tell and I will edit my rating (if possible) if this becomes and issue in a year or so.
So far, only 3 complaints: The lid fell off the 3rd time I used it. The lid is held on by 2 bolts that are installed at the factory and one of them loosened and fell off. After the grill cooled I was able to retrieve the nut and washer and I tightened it with a socket wrench, not a phillips and so far it is holding up. The upper tray needs a lip so you can't accidentally shove something off the back. Every previous grill I have seen has a lip on the upper rack and I don't know who the cost accountant was that decided this wasn't needed, but I would re-asign him/her. The grilling manual that comes with the grill says it has a gas guage. It does not and when I called them, they were not going to send me one, but I could buy one.
As far as I am concerned, this is the best gril you can buy at this point in time. It does the best job of cooking with controllable and consistent heat and is well built. It is energy effieient and the actual usable surface is larger than comperable grills with no hot/cold spots.

Assemble required!!!

I just purchase it at Menards store. It came completely unassembled and I spent 3.5 hours to get everything together! In a process I found that a couple of holes were not drilled completely. So, I have to use a drill. For this price it has to be much more preassembled! Didn't have a chance to use it yet.

Great Performance!

I owned a Char Broil grill since 2004 and it has performed superbly, with great warranty service when some items needed replacement, which you can expect with my level of usage over 13 years. Naturally I looked first, and last, at Char Broil and considered upgrading to the infrared model because of the claim of even heat distribution and a juicer outcome. Extensive internet research validated CB's claim so I sprung for this latest grilling "technology" and I am not disappointed. The only drawback from my old model is, because of the complete coverage of the infrared grills, there is an inability to confirm visually that the burners are lit. In all fairness these grills will protect the burners from being clogged by grease so there shouldn't be a problem. I am, also, able to confirm that the burner is lit because of the customary "swoosh" that accompanies ignition.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good heat distribution, EMBARRASING Grates!

I like the distribution of heat but I am EMBARRASED to cook on the grates. I can not have people over when I BBQ. I have the "old" design where the holes are in the valley and get clogged each and every time, Within three month the grates rusted. I now have to cook on copper mats. I have seen many many complaints about the same issue. I noticed the "new" design, the holes are covered by the grates,,,that is nice but I do not know how the grates perform. Just very disappointed in these grates.

Easy to grill!

I hadn’t bought a bbq grill for over 20 years until now. This new grill makes grilling and cleaning a breeze. The meat remained juicy with very little grease burn. I like it so much that I have been using it daily and also use the side burners to cook other food. The included grilled plate for the side burner is awesome for making omelette. Overall, I like it.
