Once Assmbled Never Looked Back

This grill was pretty easy to assemble with help from my brother. The directions were good however the parts were not clearly labeled so we did have to do some guess and check. Also some parts were damaged during shipping so be aware of that. Now to actually using the grill, I love the fact that I can turn any burner on and light it. This is a huge improvement over only being able to light one burner. This grill is all stainless and that means it should last a long time. Also the way the burners are designed I got very few flare ups and when I did they burnt out very quickly. It has a ton of room, I was able to cook 8 burgers, 8 brats and still have half the grill left. This item was sent as a free sample in exchange for my review.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best grilling decision was buying this grill

I bought this grill 3 years ago. I was a bit concerned about reviews stating that it was not durable. But I was intrigued by the concept of infrared flare-free grilling. Other commercial infrared units cost 6 times more. So I figured I could buy this one and replace it every few years a still be ahead. Best decision every!
I love how it cooks! I went from using grill occasionally to cook burgers to confidently cooking a wide variety of things--roasted vegetables, steaks, pork, chicken, salmon.
It does take a bit more maintenance than other grills, but this has been well worth it. (About 15 minutes every 3rd time I use it.) I have owned it over 3 years and it looks as good as the day I bought it. I keep in covered. It is outside all year, including Michigan winters.

Cook well but terrible quality

Having to replace the porcelain cook surface every year is not very economical. Would not recommend to anyone.

We have had one for 4-5 years. It was working fine, it just needed some new parts. The cost of replacement parts approached new, so a new one it was. We use our CharBroil at least 4 times a week all year long, don't like to use the cooktop or oven.
The new one is the same as the old, only it cooks hotter so adjustments had to be made. We really enjoy the infrared feature. It reduces/eliminates flare ups completely. We went to a friend's house for steaks and he showed me the new grill he purchased at about 3x the cost of our CharBroil. After telling me all of the great features of his grill, the steaks were put on. I commented on the amount of smoke it produced and told him he should figure out a way to tarp it for cooking. He reminded me he was grilling not smoking. When he checked the steaks several were literally on fire. We had a good laugh and after a bit of trimming, enjoyed the steaks.

I bought it unassembled and spent ~4 careful hours counting the parts, reading the instructions ( really) and assembling it by myself (except having my wife help me put the top half on to the stand).
Cons:
1. Comes in one box that weighed over 100 pounds...you will need help loading and unloading loading it.
2. Instructions do not warn you that the self tapping screws will require an effort to start them. Recommend you install the screws into the part, remove them then position and install the part.
3. Many complaints about rusting after a few uses. HOWEVER, if you read the 'Community' tips section there is an article on how to cure the stainless steel components before using it and after. THIS SHOULD BE IN THE INSTRUCTIONS.
4. The wiring diagram could use some elaborating as to where the 6 wires come from.
5. The unit is several inches shorter which limits the storage space.
Pros:
1. I had an older model and the construction was tack welds which broke over time (had to drill and bolt the parts together) and nuts and bolts. This model comes with pre installed 'nuts' so all you need is a screwdriver and no wrench.
2. This unit heats up to 650 degrees in just a few minutes here in sunny California.
3. The loss of inches of storage was added to the two wing shelves.

I will update re. possible rusting and impact on the warranty. Over all I am satisfied with this model and will be cooking 2 to 3 times a week.

Coming up on 7 years and never had a problem. Cooks evenly and adjusts to your needs. I cook off and on varying from 1 time a week to several times. Cleaning is a breeze in a big bucket. Purchased I believe in July 2014. Highly recommended.

Absolutely no better grill out there than this series. I have had 4 burner for the past several years. Never had any performance issues. Love the infrared option. Never any flareups/grease fires. Would definitely recommend this series.
