First Laptop

This is my first laptop and I searched for nearly a year before deciding to buy this laptop. For me, this was probably an ideal model. It has the right balance between performance and design for my use.
If my 5 of 5 star review seems overly enthusiastic, I'll add the caveat that I've only owned this a short time and have not used it extensively yet.
The 15" display is not too big, as I was concerned, for easy portability, due to the lightweight design. The small bezels probably make the overall dimensions smaller than an average 15" laptop.
The keyboard and track pad are great, and the 1920 x 1080 screen resolution is just right for a screen this size. I suppose the resolution also help battery life, but I've not really had the opportunity to test that yet.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the design and performance of this laptop.
Recommending this or any computer to others is tricky of course, because it depends on one's needs / intended uses / design preferences, but I would buy it again.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Buying a Samsung product was the best decision I could have made! This product is extremely functional, from it's lightweight exterior to it's sleek keyboard design. The internal processor is fast and keeps up with my multi functional work/home use of this laptop. I would definitely recommend the Samsung Laptop 9 for anyone looking for an affordable laptop with great features and functionality!

Samsung censored a 5 star review because I mentioned the competition , so let's see if they would post a 4 star review.
Great notebook, sharp screen about 8-10 hours of battery life with moderate usage.
Very thin and light, good design.
Battery life better than the 4k screens due to lower draw.
SSD drive, no moving parts, fan only kicks in now and then and there is an option to lower the fan noise.
Samsung has an utility software that updates all the drives, very nice.
15 inches is just the right size, coming from a 17 inch laptop.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you're serious about a business laptop

This is my second Samsung laptop. Previous Q series I loved except for the notorious touch pad issue. It was so rugged, I bit the bullet and paid the premium for this series 9. 18 months into this and I have to say this is even better. The keyboard has given me a few quirky issues, and it's now out of warranty, but they aren't enough to detract from what I bought this for. I own a software controls company. I travel extensively. I need rugged, reliable and long battery life. This is over 18 months old. The battery STILL lasts all day, 10-12 hours depending on what I'm doing. That's with the wifi on all day, Outlook syncing with Microsoft exchange and surfing the net while writing 50-120 page intense graphics manuals. This unit is more rugged than the Q series and had held up well. I beat the heck out of my laptops...this one is built very well.
Only limitation: 8GB of ram and I can't upgrade it to more. Not a killer, but I would love to have more if I could.
Safe to say I'm only looking at a Samsung in 18 months when it comes time to replace this. Superb product, well worth the investment.
Pros: Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight, excellent long term battery life
Cons: keyboard keys act up at times not a deal breaker

Finally, the ultimate thin and light 15" laptop. Samsung really made it!

For years I've been looking for a thin and ultra light-weight 15" laptop without success. Samsung's 2016 version Notebook 9 made my dream come true. It weighs like a 13" but has a large and beautiful 15" screen. I really have the best of both worlds with Samsung.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight

Great successor to the QX-410
on September 6, 2016

I recently purchased the Notebook 9 (Core I-7) to replace a long in the tooth Samsung QX-410 that I've used for almost 6 years. I've dragged the QX-410 all over the world, and it has been super rugged, and trouble free. While the QX-410 still works, one of the USB ports was mangled by a fellow air traveler (small USB dongle was in the port) in the overhead bin. Good excuse to upgrade! I have to say that the Notebook 9 is an improvement in every way except storage. I wish Samsung had provided the option for a 512gb SSD, and also the option for Win 10 Pro. Oh well. The Notebook 9 doesn't look to be *quite* as sturdy as the QX-410, but seems very well built and pretty resistant to damage. The screen is beautiful, and the extra 1" diagonal size over the 14" QX-410 is really a plus. As someone who edits documents in side by side mode routinely, the extra size is just right. The Notebook 9 is fast, incredibly light, and the touch pad (the unholy bane of the QX-410) is very responsive and has a great tactile sense. Many reviews I've read knock down the Notebook 9 for having a poor keyboard - short key travel - but for me (admittedly not a speed demon - 8 fingers with arthritis, and 2 missing) - I've noticed a significant increase in my typing speed. Very comfortable to type, and a super easy transition from the QX-410 which has the identical keyboard layout *except* the right hand shift key is much larger on the Notebook 9, and much easier to hit. All in all, I could ask for more storage, and possibly more USB's, but overall this is a much better laptop than the QX-410, and I was very happy with that one. Highly recommended to road warriors who need a solid, light, fast business laptop.

Worth It!

Upon reviewing various laptops, the Notebook 9 met all of my personal requirements for personal and professional use. It's well worth the value. Only real concern was the cursor glitching after the open screen went into sleep mode and had to restore the function keys. Battery claims to be 12 hours but fully charged runs about 8. However, battery life also depends on use and programs. Overall, wonderful product worth the investment.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable, Lightweight, Built-in speakers
